... on my Zetec at 80,000kms which I'm quite happy with especially after only one rotation.
Fitted 235/45/R17 Diamondbacks from Kmart for $129 each fitted with premium wheel balancing. Be interesting to see how long they last.

Tyre prices seem to have come down because when I bought the car in March 2008, I remember wondering how I would ever be able to afford that size replacement tyres.

Originally on Bridgestones 30k from my fronts, 42k from the rears, not rotated.
Now have part worn on rear with new on front. All corners now have Maxis supplied by dealer at service time $230 each. The set fitted at 30k still have plenty left, and drive OK.

Broady: I got 23,000 out of the conti's but didn't have bluefin in for most of that.
They were looking very sad by the time I replaced them. Rotated at the 8,000 km mark. |

Just went to JAX to replace the originals. They offer three levels of balance. The basic was mounted directly onto the stub via a cone and clamp. The next level used and adapter and flange. The third level uses an adapter and flange but they balance it differently somehow.
I got 37500 out of the Goodyear Excellence. They kept scrubbing out on the outside, especially on the passenger side. I just could not get it to hold an alignment. Every 5,000k it gets re-aligned. i keep taking it back to the dealership and they keep re-aligning it but can't seem to find anything wrong. If they weren't buggered there was about 5000-7000k's left on them. 80,000k's is outstanding. Well done!

I dumped my Excellence tyres when they were down to 4-5mm after I nearly aquaplaned into a median barrier on a left hand bend! They were fine in the dry but gave me a couple of bad moments in the wet. They'd covered 35,000 kms when I changed them.

i think the conti's must be just too soft?? be interested in looking at Entheos' P Zeros (i think?) after they get a few k's on them as i don't expect the conti's to last more than another 2 or 3k...

Just had a minor service at 90,000kms and was told the original brake pads (front and rear) still have enough life in them not to need replacement yet.
I must say I'm really impressed with the original tyres and brake pads.
