You would think they would clean the old girl once in awhile.

No indication that he was interested in selling.

$150K? My XB GT has been mothballed for 15yrs in a shed, does that make it worth $75K lol.

I was listening to the owner of the car being interviewed about it on the radio.

The obvious question the radio host did not ask was...

“Why would you build a swimming pool infront of the garage trapping a car in for life?... Why not relocate it first?”

I came across an XW Phase I trapped in a shed that had since been built in. Old car, no value... "meh" at the time.

Better theft deterrent than a car alarm I suppose.

On radio the owner said he paid about $5,000 for it, (he was the third owner).

He must have been living under a mushroom to not know that the value of those cars had increased to at least 10 times what he paid for it.

you'd think they would wrap it in plastic if it was for an investment.

Most likely he parked it in the shed cos it was too scary for him to drive..

Some people buy cars as a sort of artform, to display and look at rather than to drive.

Some say it is a defect in one’s character, in that they have difficulty in loving people or finding satisfaction in a relationship, so get enjoyment from loving objects, machines or art as a replacement

There are plenty of artforms displayed out my way in paddocks, however they're mainly Holden's.

granted a fair amount of planning had to be done, arranging the crane, tilt tray etc... but who here all the extra guys, Moff wouldn't just rock up, why all the kids...if you owned something as precious as that you wouldn't be showing it off on TV news.

I tell you something is brewing.....AFF nah more than that.... but dont have a clue what

Certainly not wishing rain for the day but if it does turn up it'd be nice to watch it emerge from under the dust.

The car is being used as poster child for the Survivor car movement, which although created by the Corvette guys in the States as a judging class in the 1980s, is very quickly gaining traction here and becoming very popular and of course expensive for some models.

Cheers Mick

Yeah mate I had to scratch my head as well!

I think Moff was probably referring to the fact that when he was racing the GT Falcons, he didn't have to put up with other traffic sharing the roadway, i.e. dump trucks and other dangers such as are encountered in normal driving.

Unfortunately the interviewer probably knew nothing about the subject at hand and missed an opportunity to get any number of good quotes from him. They've used an interview grab that had nothing to do with the GT and was thus out of context.

I have a fair bit of media involvement with my work and give media interviews quite regularly. It's amazing the difference in quality of the end product when the reporter has a reasonable understanding of their subject.

That one clearly didn't and unfortunately, made poor old Moff look a bit awkward.

Russ.
