Default Car Twisting

Hi Guys,
I took my Car ( TC Cortina) out to Eastern Creek on Sunday . First time I raced the car with MT Street ET's.They definately make the car hook up. On take off the car twists badly. A guy watching, told me later that even the rear pasenger side lifted, way more than normal. I could definately feel it in the car. It's characteristic of these cars to do this. Does anyone have any suggestions how I can overcome this. One suggestion is that I go to a heavy spring on the drivers side rear with an air bag. The car has coil springs on the rear. Any advice would be appreciated.

A big fat rear sway bar will stop it from twisting off the line. This will work well if you have a locked rear diff. If you have an open wheeler diff, let it twist away as long as you are not spinning up a tyre

All Cortina's do it.. anti roll bar is the go

This is what I knocked up for the back of mine. works a treat. You can buy them off the shelf from a few performance places. My userid picture is a "before" pic..

Thought of welding in some chassis connectors under floor ??
Yep sway bar ... I've seen them with rippled roof...
In extreme cases..
I guess your not interested in some sort of cage ??

Thanks for the advice everyone. I want to avoid going to a cage. Looks like the anti roll bar it is. By the way, I have heard that these cars some times rip in the floor. Is this something I should worry about?

It depends on the amount of twist you generate. If you are worried about it, weld a thick plate in to stop it happening
