That looks insane...
The suicide doors on the rear are cool...
The interior and front seats are awesome... The cops over there look like they'll have it quite comfortably... (until the have to get out.....lol)

Mate, this car is a purpose built Police Car. Since when do the crims in the back need power windows?

If this was a non Police car, I'd ask how often you sit in the back of your own car. I never do.

I'd take irlewey's comment with a grain of salt; Paxton you're right, there is no need at all for rear pwr windows. That thing looks good, and I'm guessing that rear suicide doors are so the fatter criminals of the USA can actually fit into the car.

Let alone operate the rear DVD which seems to have been cut too

On topic, looks like a great tool, great to see seats made to suit their belts too. I bet that'll find a few happy faces. One thing I did notice missing was side lights (or search lights). Seems like an obvious omission?

Just one option along with I believe a Commodore based vehicle and the new Ford Police intercepter.

A little smoke and mirrors with this release methinks.
Article doesn't say who has recently ordered 240000 E7 engines,or where the order has come from. Also puts in perspective to see there are only 13000 pre orders from law enforcement agencies(I think the term law enforcement agencies in the States is pretty broad, isn't it ?), out of a need for 420000 police cars.
Have to agree,it seems like just one of a number of options being offered up.

I don't like it, Inside looks alright but I prefer the style of the current police cars, big V8's/turbo 6 cyls with lightbars etc, or a poofy little diesel with everything built in? first option thanks

Which is what I alluded to, that figure is just a little short of the 420,000 required.

No.....that is one of the stumbling blocks with it, they don't know what to do with them after there use by date, as Road Warrior say's it's been around for a while....

Wow someone went to town with the sirens.
I like the dash, I wonder if one day all car consoles will be a massive touch screen?
I'd be interested to see if they sell their target of 10,000-80,000 (specific much?) cars per year.

With a service life of 440,000km (if they can actually achieve this) though, it'll last 4 to 7 times longer than the current ones. If they're only buying one of these compared to 4-7 normal cars, they can just scrap/recycle it and still be better off.

I like the way the rear seat design allows for the fact that crims will have hands handcuffed behind them. Bet a few taxi drivers wish they had the "just hose out" design too.

How many times is this vaporware car going to show up in threads?

The whole thing is based on venture capital and having police departments return vehicles
to them for refurbishment, anytime you eliminate the chance of competition the costs
always increase. police were whinging about the cost of the cheap as chips Crown Victoria,
I don't see how Carbon motors E7 is anything more than a military ego stroking exercise.

Believe it when you see it. What's more, the car won't have any nationwide dealership and parts support like a regular production car. That's one of the strengths of the Crown Victoria; redundancy of the support and supply chain.
