Rod Barrett, the new FPV honcho has confirmed two new FPV variants coming to the Aussie Motorshow in October. One can only assume the Territory and maybe the XR5T will get a look in!

Tiges is correct.
FPV have already stated that they will not touch anything made by the UK team.

Yeh it's not the Fiesta RS nor Focus RS. Because :-
1) There will be no bona-fide Mk.6 Fiesta RS made. 2) Focus RS is not even out in Europe yet. I'm guessing it's the F6 Tempest(?) and a limited edition FPV GT. |

My lease will be up on the XR5 by the time they start making 'em here - would be nice to be able to upgrade to a Focus FPV

If you think about it, just a couple of badges and a tune From FPV on the XR5T taking it up to 300hp is just not worth the money. Which is probably all they could do tech wise from UK.
To make it worth While they would have to add special wheels, a better exhaust and MAYBEE some better bodydesign like Vents and that, before id consider buying one. But i just bought a Focus LR Zetec. and am loving that. In all honesty.. i really do hope that Ford AUS do something with the XR5T. but i cant see it anytime soon!.

I am sure it wont just be a tune and new badge. FPV would put the hard yards it. Probably a new Intake/Exhust/Rims/Bodykit/and slight interior mods.
Cant see them touching the suspension already killer! Should lower it another 10mm

OK, it's actually a limited edition F6 Typhoon R-Spec. (300 made) and the other must be that FPV Territory with F6's powertrain.

Bring over the peeps from M Sport and Team RS to look over these so called FPV projects, as Ford Aus have a reputation of f in up anything that is Euro made/designed. Half of the big wigs dont even know what they are called.
It would make sense to do it right the first time, and not just throw on a GT or Spec R rubbish badge on it along with weak upgrades/modifications.

FPV XR5 - personally if it were going to happen Id love to see a new name and badge (obviously), new exhaust and interior bits, and maybe a slight retweak. You would be flat pressed funding anything bigger than that but I gaurantee you it would sell like hot cakes.

man i get too excited far too quick although the quotes from the GoAuto article did indicate that 4 and 5 cylinder models would be added to the FPV range.
i guess we can just keep crossing our fingers. |
