Carla Zampatti and Ford

In the 90's Carla Zampatti the Australian fashion designer, who recently passed away, worked with Ford and came up with some Lasers and Meteors with her own touch.
One article said she was the first fashion designer to work direct with a motor company styling a car, not sure about that but who knows.

I'm more Carla Zampatti Laser rather than Ferrari Daytona budget

Lowes suit jacket and Bintang T-shirt should do the trick

I remember a salesman showing me the blurb on that when I bought my KB Laser S,
it really did nothing for me at the time, different interior and badges...

I think the first designer cars were massive 1970s yank tanks, like lincoln by givenchy.

Lots of cars did denim interiors. A few VW/fiats in europe, levis in the USA did cars like gremlin.

Also I remember the reebox nissan pulsar. Also golf, sporting tie ins used to be common.

Yeah, That's what I was thinking of. Those big ford coupes in the 70s with the fake rear mounted spare and the side opera windows was where fashion designers started putting their name on cars.

Denim interiors - Moke Californian (printed vinyl, actually?), special edition Renault 12 or Virage, can’t remember which but allegedly would stain pale clothes (I think they used proper indigo dyed Egyptian cotton denim).

Remember the Zampatti Laser well - at the time thought those taillights were pretty cool!

The wheels look like smaller scale variations of the ugly ones fitted to the Lamborghini Diablo from the 1990s.

The only car I've seen with metric wheels is an M635CSI, it had some weird tyre size like 415mm or something



The wheels in the photo were normal replacement for the metric wheels it had.

Yeah, early 80s BMW like that e24 and also some e28s had a metric wheel (trx).
The original 'low profile' tyre and being french, and thinking they don't want anyone else to run their 'low profile' tyres, they made them odd metric sizing.

Zampatti decribed them as the model car for the modern woman.
So maybe the salesman thought you were buying it for your girlfriend/wife

I am jealous of people who can grow mullets - one of my childhood mates decided to rock the dirtiest mullet you've ever imagine in high school during the late 00s, then did it again for his sisters wedding which went as well as you could imagine, in all the wedding photos its the best thing ever.
