Default What's GREAT about Ford????

Well after all the negativity from us, and I mean all of us (including myself). I think we need to focus on the good things about the product we worship! Post what you think is great about Ford here, so when you feeling down, just look at this post to bring you back up! So lets keep it positive.

I'll start:
1. Two letters: GT

2. Allan Moffat (our best driver ever?)

3. The 77 bathurst 1-2 victory (the only one that has ever happened)

4. Henry Ford, when accused of in court of being 'ignorant' for not knowing how many men died in a particular war, saidwords similar to: 'I'm not ignorant, I have three buttons on my desk. One for my lawer, one for my accountant (or assistant), & one for my wife. When I want to know something I push one of these buttons to summon someone to answer the questions I want answered, I dont have to know everything, I employ smart people who know everything so that I am informed'. - What a smart & great man! Thank you Mr Ford.

5. Even Clyde from 'Bonnie & Clyde' personally wrote a letter to Henry Ford to congratulate him on such a great product, & that his V8 was Clydes choice, as it had the power to outrun the police. - What a statement eh?

I have more, but I'll let you guys keep it going.

The great history of Ford…"Falcons, Fairmont’s, GT’s" etc, you feel like your part of something legendary, and that feeling you get from driving a ford…awesome!

Importantly practability,size,hipo engines 6 or 8.......
Mixed with affordable parts compared to euros.

Agree with Raptor Sentimantal stuff is over rated imo its over the playing field has changed far too much.......

The steering, especially when compared to Holden. It's like going from scoring with the town bike to dating a priest's daughter.

australian fords are great for this . they build heavy rear wheel drive big family cars.
the other brand ( holden ) do too . but ford and holden differ whilst being similar. giving us choice . that makes them equally great .
every other brand is either lighter, smaller, or has a differant base charactoristic and feel from that which i like.
any car that equals the size is normally much much more expensive .

They've employed tens of thousands of Australians
They've been scratch designing cars and engines in this country every year for almost 40 years.
The Kokoda track was defended with munitions built with pride in Ford factories.
They've got the only V8 assembly line left in the country.
The 4.0 six will s*** 800,000 k's if it's looked after properly
Engine blocks cast in Australia
400 hp and rear wheel drive for less than the average Australian's wage in a year.
You can option your reasonably priced family sedan to have a ZF gearbox as featured in Euro cars twice it's price.
They've probably provided more mobility to this country in the form of taxi's and Police cars than any other single brand.

They're easier to get passionate about than rice.

They have made cars that you dream about owning as a youngster. And then when you are able to, owning these very same cars, plus a few of the new ones, what can you say? Just Great I reckon.

Nah just kidding. Probably the legendary GTHOs. Even as a Holden fan not much is cooler than a beautifully kept XY GTHO, and the sound of a 351 Cleveland is to die for.

The BA/F looked So much better than the VY/Z

The FG looks MILES & MILES better than the VE

The V8SC falcons just look totally better with a rear wing that looks natural, rather than that stupid dicky looking wing ,that looks like a tacky-after-thought add-on, on the commodores.

Winterbottons falcon just looks awesome this year. Its the best livery in the lane even, over his team mate. The best livery. Full-stop. No arguement. The best ever. Simple.

Fords so good it made Peter Brock change into a Sierra after a fall-out with Holden. He could have gone to a Nissan GTR, BMW, but no, a Sierra for the ATCC.

The fairlane was the pinnacle of the Australian luxury car.

Outside of V8s, Tickfords, FPV's, GT's, the B-Series looks, etc. And all the good things that make Ford, and Falcon so great. Holden and every other car maker have just as good options, however.

The I6 engine. Find me a 6 cylinder locally produced car to match the Falcon 6.

He actually drove a BMW M3 in 1988 before switching to Sierras.

Its a genealogy thing for me, my family have had Fords since they started making them.
Otherwise, myself. I've never had an unreliable Ford.

My Aussie I6 with a snail on it Fast, smooth, practical for work or play. With the help of the ZF 6 they wisely included I get mid 10L/100 economy on a stock tune with a mix of highway and city driving. Thanks!


Oh, and the car has lovely subtler sports styling. Holdens latest look too fat and simply over the top on the front with the leftover parts bin quad nostrils and so on. :

1:Being able to produce a good quality product that sensible logical people will buy, without having to advertise the hell out of it. And not lie through their teeth in the process. A sign of a loyal, solid customer base.
2:The feeling of playing second fiddle to GM actually seems to invoke more pride into our cause. Strange as that sounds.
3: It is also simply a personal preference.

Plus there is nothing on earth like a Ford V8.

People my age(47) ,probably the early GT's , I also always like the small Fords as well,Capri 's GT , Escorts , one of my favourites is the old Esky panel vans,I had mates with them,geez we had some fun in them ,and they were good to drive.

XA-XC coupes are great.
Discontinued base model V8s. (Makes mine even more unique)
Everything Falcon GT.
And late 60s mustang fastbacks, very nice.

I love and have always loved every one of my 24 Fords

What I also enjoy doing is telling all Holden Mad people when they dump
on Fords is that " On Worked Holdens how come they have Ford 9" Diffs
and Ford Top Loader Gearboxes and worked Fords dont need to have
any Holden parts in them" ???????
