Default pads not bedded yet

I fitted new brake pads to my EL last week[front] but have noticed that the pads edge closest to the hub has not touched the disk yet by about 10mm so any Ideas what the trouble is?

If that's the case then your car will probably be pulling to one side when braking. Maybe you should remove and refit as maybe the pads are fouling the pins or something. Also check that you have fitted the correct pads and not ones for a different model. They should be touching most of the disc after a weeks driving. I wouldn't drive too far with brakes that are 'suspect' and you are to be commended for noticing the fault!!!

the brake caliper should move from side to side so both pads are hard against the disc. be worth pulling back apart to find out why this is not the case

Have you cained them? When i did the greenstuffs, i had a similar drama, after a week of normal driving they werent seating properly, and i couldnt suss out why. Had it all apart about 4 times. Got the ИИИИs, took it for a absolute flogging, kept tapping the pedal as well, stopped once brakes got hot and the car was pulling up better than ever. My problem has also been solved has been awesome since

Thanks for the replys, I guess they will bed-in soon but its just anoying to see that 10mm wide rusty ring where they have not started rubbing yet. They are the correct pads and the car pulls up very well the calipers seem to be squeezing the outside of the disk more than the inside I thought it may have something to do with the caliper slider pins wearing. I have had the car since new[1998] and the calipers are original new seals have been fitted in the past. Any more ideas very appreciated.
