Default SEcurity Code for Radio - au 2

Guys,

I changed the battery and the radio is asking for code, now the problem is that the radio has 6 numbers and the security code has an 8 in it, how do i go about inputting the code ?, I have tried calling 2 different Ford dealers and they have told me diffferent things which locked up the radio even further...

Please help as I dont want to take a day off work just to go to the service centre for a radio!!!!

Thanks,

Maybe your looking at the wrong thing. I think that the code will only go up to six. I could give you my code if you want as I have an au2, I don't know if the codes are different throughout each car.

Yeah I got a friend to go to ford for me, and thats the number they gave him its for digits long but no idea hwo to type in number 8, I called 2 dealers on the phone and they told me to press the number 1 then with the arrows you make the number go up or down ... that locked the radio once again... I'm shore someone has done it before....

they are all different,,, and they should be only 4 digits... Ring your local Ford service dept with the VIN and they will help you out once the word "CODE" comes up on the display again.

For every wrong number the 'err' messages stays longer

I think you've misunderstood him. The code he has is four digits long but there is an 8 in it and he is unsure on how to get to the 8.

What ford gave him was wrong. The code can only be with the numbers between 1 to 6.

I was under the impression that the security code only used the numbers 1 to 6 (I may be wrong), but have you tried substituting the number 6 where the number 8 occurs , assuming that the number 8 is probably a poorly written 6 ?
Worth a try ?

Good idea - working on the same theory, it could be a scribbled 3, 2 or 5 as well

Give ford a call, tell them your VIN and they should give you the code

Chances are they won't. You'll have to go into a dlr

Email ASL - site sponsors. If you can give them the serial number of the radio, they can give you the code.
