Brembo's are standard. Being a cobra, it will be 6 pot up front and 4 at the rear.

The car at the motorshow only had 4 spot brembos and single spot rear calipers. I remember reaading somewhere that 6 spots were optional.

Exactly!

Its not rocket science, there is a demand and a little honeymoon period for the car. Start making threads in 12 months time and we will see how they fare.

Incorrect.

The standard issue is 4 spot Brembos up front and Single piston PBR at the rear. If you want BREMBOS all round you need to option it up for the price of your 1st born..................

Sunroof is also a "N/A" option on the COBRA as it was on the 40th Anniversary as it cuts through the roof stripes.

Yeh only come with 4 pots unless you buy the ute, which has 6 pots and better seats (A).

Ok sorry, didn't know for a fact that was the case, I just assumed if they were releasing a limited built, it would have all the bells and whistles and not just be a base GT with blue stripes, and fancy wheels. I stand corrected :

I'd think about doing the same on a limited edition vehicle that hadn't been delivered yet. Make a nice tidy profit, buy a white GT-P, few bolt ons, a lick of paint and pocket a fat wad of cash. If no-one buys, you've got yourself a Cobra. What would you have to lose?

I posted that link a while ago in the original BFII Cobra thread.

People are just riding the wave of excitement. It will subside.

The hysteria seems to be dying down, e-bay isn't being flooded with them after the initial rush. Things may build up again when the buyers start taking delivery.

Have heard bugger all about 40th Anniversary GT's these days....

The big question in my mind is how the aftermarket will treat this car in relation to the GTP.

I'm sure the cobra will be worth more than a standard GT, but will it sell / be worth more than a fully loaded BF GTP.........?????????

I'm thinking maybe initially, but after the current frenzy and hype and ORION release in 08......I'm not so sure anymore...............

People move on a lot quicker than they used to and we are all now very spoilt for choice.

i dont think so .the asking price and the actually getting price are two very different things.if this guy can get back what he paid for it in twelve months time i reckon he'll be a lucky man.this is the most overhyped idea of an investment i have ever seen.i do love the original cobra and would own one if i could.i have no desire to own this new model whatsoever.i would rather wait and look at and possibly buy the new model about to arrive in a matter of months.if ford were a bit more far dinkum they would have made the cobra out of the new model and released it next year in 08.that would be the thirty anniversary of the origanal cobra released in 1978 and not some trick to flog off the old model before the next better car comes along.and not one year prior to the anniversary of a legend. morons..now lets see to make a copy of an origanal cobra i need a coupe body to start, not that easy...nows lets make a copy of the "new" cobra ,lets see white four door ba taxi and 2 blue stipes.and people think this car is going up in value.dreamers.and yes i do own a ba and love it.

The original cobra was made as a marketing exercise to dispose of the last of the coupe shells as they were a sales disaster. The coupe started well but fell on its bum is the same way the more recent monaro has.

The problem is that most of the people who can actually afford a new coupe cannot buy one as they need more doors or an esky.

The development costs would be horrendous and recent history has shown every coupe Ford has delivered in Australia to be a flop. (Mustang and Couger)

Basicly it will not happen......

Just trying his luck that all the hype will sell his car for him at a quick buck. Good luck if it happens but I doubt it. Who knows maybe he bought it to keep but figures he should try his luck at a ridiculous price first, either way; win win.

If he bought it as an investment and even if he owns it outright then hed certainly be losing a few grand in (potential interest earned) and youd want to sell it before it gets too close to Orion.

+ Higher compression All future GT/GT-P will have this motor
+ Different camshafts " " "
+ Different valve springs " " '
+ Unique Cobra badging - Yep....only thing special
+ Unique Cobra Build No - Yep...$50 from eBay
+ R Spec suspension - Optional on all the FPV
+ Different exhaust headers - Same on all future GT/GT-P

There is nothing really special about the Cobra, that would warrant a 100% premium over a GT or GT-P. The eBay guy will be stuck with this car.

The DEALERS are just as bad as eBay

Went lookin for a Cobra on the weekend and some have a tender process to buy them - eg HIGHEST BIDDER

And others just try and screw you eg Auto with Sat Nav for $88,000

So they are out there just you cant pay RRP for them..............

I bet you some of the eBay sellers are associated with the Dealers
