this question would be better suited in the AU falcon. but on highway cycle, id be expecting around 11-12L/100 or something. that may be a little low though.

better than a turbo unless you give it a good flogging in which case you can basically make it as good or as bad as you like :hihi:

"Fuel Economy" and "XR8" are two phrases which don't go together!
Around the city its 14 - 20L per 100Km depending on the weight of your foot.
BUT on country trips I get 10.5L per 100Km which is very good for an 8.
Don't forget that they run on Premium Fuel too. (Something I overlooked when buying mine!)

Cheers,

Simon

Add the numbers 347 to that and you get around 250 around town.

If your only getting 250km's per tank around town russell, than you either need to lay off the right foot or find a better tuner.

Even my 1966 xr with 750holley'd 351 2V clevo pushing 504hp thru a c10 2500hi stall'd, 3.5 diff gear'd, got a lot better than that around town.

I'm currently running a 320,000km's AU1 V8 with crow 1317, 1.7 rollers, 180seat pressured double with damper, 30thou off heads, ported tb and top intake, k/n panel filter, pacey 4006's with twin 2.5, standard gears and stall, and mine gets minimal 450km's per tank and at best i've gotten 900km's to a tank.

Now before any mod's when i first purchased the car on standard ULP i got 600km's to a tank long trip.

In saying that my tune at the moment is very lean, 13.4 average full throttle, 14 to 1 over 4000, due to a poor fuel pump, and lack of a tune. But my cruise mixtures are at 14.7 stoich when ment to be and my lean cruise is 17 to 1 like its ment to be. And if i got a tune done and it got worse economy on a cruising trip long or short, i'd be really pee'd, obviously full throttle is a different story.

really these days, where does one draw the line from being a tossa flogging their car everywhere to someone driving their car nice to obtain better fuel economy. The world is changing with oil prices and some of us (me included) need to take notice.

I need to find a better tuner, I know that. I also hardly ever drive my car so the price of petrol I couldn't really give a stuff about, as long as the price of my train ticket doesn't go up because of it that is.

The only thing that irritates me about petrol prices is the oil companies talking bs to us about this and that that is pushing the price up and the govt telling us that there is nothing they can do. I'd be much happier if they all came out and said "ha ha were screwing you, we all know it and there isn't a damn thing you can do about it".

I don't drive for economy, if I wanted economy I'd buy a Camry. Still doesn't make me a tossa though.

Well said mate, I couldn't care less if I chew through a tank of fuel in half a day, as long as I am enjoying myself while I do it.

Why do you think there are no G&D stickers on my car and no mention anywhere in my sig or AU Falcon page.

Fair enough then. I used to drive mine more than that so it used to kind of worry me. Not enough to stop me from buying a V8 in the first place though lol.

That sounds about the same as mine. Depending how I drive and how heavy the traffic is, I get around 15lts/100km around town and around 12lt/100km on the open road.

Ummm, did any of us buy these with economy in mind??? err, I don't really think so!
