Default The only thing better than an AUXR8........

is two AUXR8s!

Much to my wife's disgust, I have finally found an Series III manual in good condition at a good price. February 2002 build, Venom red, twin 2.5inch exhaust. Looks good, goes better and sounds better again. I'm surprised by how snappy the performance is and how much of a different beast the manual is to the auto. I love it!

Only problem is, I also love my Winter White Series II auto on dual fuel. Has rear mufflers removed, sounds great and as economical to run as a Corolla. Its my comfy suburban commuter.

So two AU XR8s it is! One for the daily grind and one for weekend fun. Woohoo. The family hack Santa Fe will now have to be parked outside!

Further to this statement - maybe a T1 TS50?

I'll do a "special price" lol.

Thanks for your positive comments.

I would love a T3 TE50 or TS50, truly the 302 (or 346) Windsor's finest hour in a factory car, but there's something about the dual front lights of XR8s that just does it for me. If I found an AUIII manual in Blueprint (or Mercury or Venom) with leather and lpg injection - I'd consider a third (but one would have to go eventually)

The Santa Fe (Turbo Diesel) does less than 7l/100 on a trip, 9l/100 around town, 10 - 11l/100 towing a Jayco camper, seats 7 and is under new car warranty for another 4 years. It does 25000kms a year and is the perfect family hack.

I've done less than 7000kms a year in the white XR8 and will probably do less again in the red one. As such I don't care about fuel costs, they cost under $500 bucks each to insure, rego is rego and parts and maintenance if required are also cheap as chips. I think AU XR8s are insanely good value for what they are: A great combo between old school muscle and new car refinement, dynamics and (kind of) economy.

Now - what excuse can I use for some AFR 165s..........? And which one should I fit them to?
