Default My New Exhaust

Hi All,

This year (back in May) I celebrated 5 years of ownership of my Cougar and in the previous month had actually made my final payment to the finance company as well. I promised myself and the car that I'd get the exhaust done (finally!) which didn't happen until late June.

Below are some of the photos of the new exhaust getting installed. In it's original form it had three mufflers which I soon realised was overkill, so now is a twin muffler setup with a resonator. This makes the car driveable everyday but audible enough when needed.

The Wings West kit I've had on the car has been crying out for dual tips for some time so it's good to finally have those, and the larger tips set the back off just nicely.

I took some video of the car before the exhaust install but am yet to get some after. I'll work on that and post back shortly!

Cheers,

Dan

Dave: custom exhaust by Performance Exhaust Centre in Northmead. Came back with a great price and quality workmanship. Rated quite highly on other forums and I'd go there again.

Eddie: Indeed! Five years has gone so fast! Exhaust is cat back only.

Angelo: Cheers! Agree, it works great with the exhaust cutouts supplied in the WW rear lip. Ah the relief of owning the car as well. More money in my pocket

Thanks all!

Dan

Nice exhaust, I was thinking of getting a twin exhaust on mine, can you remember how much it cost to get yours done. Baz

Dan it looks cool. Cat back is a good choice. It gives grunt when you want, still being under roadworthy. Gives more economy and importantly more power. Mine is the same but the placement of mufflers is at the corners. Your's look much better. Your setup is possible only if there is a body kit, otherwise mufflers will be visible from the rear.

Its over 10 years now and even today Cougars are head turners. There are many cars out there with lot of mods but Cougars are unique. So many mods available which are totally different to each other. If you are interested you will always find a unique and different mod for Cougar which keeps it out of the herd.

When you get a chance post proper pics of you cat, I mean when its on ground so that we get a better look of the exhaust. Just wondering does this exhaust grunts under legal decibel or otherwise? Congrats on Anniversary and final payoff. Cheers.
