Hey guys,
I'm quite new here, you guys seem to have a nice forum going. This is my first Ford car, and I got to say, the Fiesta is quite nice! I was pleasantly surprised. I recently got a hold of a genuine Ford Fiesta 6006 CDC CD Player, which is quite cool. It looks like the regular 6000 CD deck in my 2007 Fiesta but it has the "Load" button. I don't really know if it will work. Some people I know are of the opinion it won't, and I have very limited experience with such new cars, but I know that some newer cars have things routed through the sound system and therefore you cannot remove it as you would in an older car. Is there anything I should keep in mind? I have the 4 digit security codes for both radios, can I just plain unplug one and replug the new one in? Do I really need those security keys or can I use a small screwdriver or fabricate something from plastic? Is there anything else I should keep in mind? Should I stop asking so many questions? Thanks guys. Kind Regards, Zelka P.S. The diagnostics thing is AWESOME. I love it! It works on my MK6 2007 Fiesta just in case, because I mostly saw it being talked about by the boys with the MK7s. |

Welcome to the forums man. I'm guessing you imported the 6006 from the UK or something?

Hey guys,
Thanks for the welcomes! I am in NSW, I found it on eBay. I am hoping against hope it works! Where can I get keys from? Should I get them of eBay, or does someone in NSW have them off this site? |

Best to contact the eBay seller. Ford keeps a log of all the keys for units installed in their cars (so the existing unit) but I think your 6006 would be imported from Europe seperatly. That or it was from the Fiesta Ghia which IIRC came with a six stacker?

Yes, XR4 has the 6006.
I also bought my keys off ebay. Look at ebay UK, they are very cheap.

It's a 2007 model Fiesta so it'd be a WQ.

InnerDevil - I don't think you'd get it to fit the WP, the centre stacks are too different.

The WP Fiesta Ghia had a six stacker however if you could find one of those? Dimension wise, you'd have to cut out the existing unit. It's been done before though, ice seen a WP Fiesta with a DVD/Navigation LCD unit in it.
Zelka. Best way to remember all the model codes is: 2004-2005 WP 2006-2008 WQ 2009-CURRENT WS So that definitly makes your model a WQ, means it has the revised dash with soft feel texture too!

Not sure guys,
I am going to try to fabricate some keys myself this Tuesday. If anyone has them some scale pictures (or a high res picture of one next to a ruler or similar) would really help, other wise I will just wing it and see what happens. I have never been inside a WP before, in fact my fiesta was the only fiesta I have ever been inside or even near. I am assuming the radio is different on the older model. Anyway, aside from the picture of they key, all I can ask for is a prayer that I do not kill my fiesta somehow! I will definitely come back with some pictures, a story and perhaps some advice on why you shouldn't try to fab your own stereo removal keys. |

Won't fit the WP's, they use the 4000 series headunit.
These are the keys, http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Ford-Mondeo-F...item27b09f83d1 I got mine from Hong Kong.

I wouldn't try mucking around with home made keys. Drop into a decent car audio outlet and ask them to slide the old unit out for you.

the 6006 wont fit in a WP. Been there tried that. A good head unit for the wp is the Alpine W203-CDE, which is what i have in mine. i happen to have a 6006 if anyone is looking for one.

Hi guys, just a quick update.
I DID actually fabricate the keys, with a lot of success because I had one deck out, so I could try before I inserted them into the original deck. I used a Woolworths (Safeway for our melb. friends) Rewards Card. It took a bit of scissor and knife work. I do not recommend it however, as one snapped inside after getting the deck out, causing it to slide back in. I gave up and went to the dealer, where the service tech man ended up doing it free (very nice guy actually). The story does not end there, the loading mechanism on the CD Stacker ended up NOT WORKING. I was so disappointed, I really wanted the 6 Stacker in there. So I had it taken back out and it is on its way back to the spare parts store where I bought it. I have a warranty, but it looks like I might just get a refund as he says he has none left in stock. We will see what happens (also Ford said they could SWAP my unit for a working, warrantied, reconditioned 6 stacker for $550 fitted). Ben86: Replied. |
