Default VIC: New fixed cameras Mooroolbark/Lilydale area?

Hey guys,

We had some people come in to the restaurant tonight who reckon there's a couple of new cameras that are going to be put in to operation in Mooroolbark and Lilydale.

They said that a friend in the Police force informed them that three new fixed speed cameras were going to be put in the area. Two are apparently being put on to Manchester Road and one on Maroondah Highway heading down in to Lilydale in the 60-50km/h zone.

Can anyone confirm this?

They couldn't remember where exactly they had been told the one's on Manchester Road would be, but I think they said there'd be on on the intersection of Maroondah Highway and Manchester Road in Chirnside Park, and the other at the intersection of Bellara and Manchester Roads.

They're pretty old so I kind of believe them, but it's got me a bit worried how close to home these cameras are getting! I'm always caning it down Manchester because I'm always trying to get in or out of the area fast!

i dunno.....it could be true, that area on maroondah hwy which turns into 50kms would be a good revenue raising spot

but why would they choose mooroolbark/lilydale? im sure there are heaps of other larger suburbs out there that they could make alot more money out of

They would make heaps off a camera on Manchester road !

Best booze bus I ever saw was on Manchester rd. Cos of all the hills in the road you couldnt see it until you where on top of it, and there were no sidestreets or turnoffs between you and the bus.
