Post Replacement key for AU1

Folks HELP, bought AU1 ute, happy woth merchandise after putting on gas with the help of Rudd, BUT it only came with 1 key. Spoke to FORD who said that I should go to Fort Knox for a loan to get another key. I bought a simple one off the web but nobody can code it for me, bummer. Anybody out there in Ford land know where I can get a reasonably priced key and it does not have to be gold plated. I am in Melbourne. Thanks to all who reply.

AU1 keys do not have a chip, therefore do not need coding.

There was an upgrade part way through AU1, which we here call AU1.5 which has the key with the chip.

AU2-3 kept the same chip and the keyfob was changed from a two button to a four button item.

If you post a picture of the original and new key, we should be able to help you out with advice on what you need.

You have an AU1.5, you can probaby get one on ebay for 30-40 bucks. The problem starts when you want it programmed because you need 2 keys to program it. Ford charge the earth, have you tried ringing a few locksmiths i heard they can probably do it cheaper. Also they could cut it also.

Many locksmiths certainly can do it, but it does cost. Ring around for the best price, but also ring a few Ford dealers as you might be surprised.
