Hi all
I was having a closer look at my rear suspension the other day & noticed what may appear to be the control blade component? it looks real rusty. Is this rust common with everyone? I've attached 2 pics with arrows pointing to the part. |

Surface rust can always look worse than it is, but it's 99% probably just that - surface rust so has no structural impact on the vehicle.

Our ASEAN Focus is like that too, specifically the upper arm of the Control Blade suspension.
Here's a photo... http://img151.imageshack.us/img151/6...sizedimfs3.jpg Out of curiosity, what color is the upper arm before it rusts? I checked out some new ASEAN Focuses, the upper rear arm is now painted the same black as the rest of the rear suspension, did they do the same for the Australian/South African Focus? |

The Fiesta also gets very surface rust on its suspension components.
Its just the type of steel Ford use. I wouldn't worry
