Get an exhaust, extractors and gutted cats. or you could just rip the exhaust off from the cats and it'll be loud......and sound like a truck.

haha. so you have a pod filter on they eh? normally they're pretty loud when there un boxed, although this is "Illegal". Mines boxed, i'm yet to fibreglass the bottom half properly yet, but i put duck tape around the wholes for a test and I cant hear it at all now.
you could try ebmanuls way and have it under the wheel arch, should be loud then i'd expect.

Pod doesn't have to be boxed in Vic to be legal just as long as its secured and not loose.

exposed pod filters ARE illegal.

I reckon the best way to do it would be to spin the manifold around 180deg, so the TB is facing the firewall, then cut a hole in the firewall, run a piece of 3" PVC pipe to the cabin and mount the pod off that.

i was thinking of running a dual pod setup myself, having one in the engine bay and another in the wheel arch, and then getting an exhaust shop to weld up some piping to run it all. u could try that, wouldnt be too hard or expensive.

A Vic police officer told me the following about pod legalties, could be different to other states. A pod is legal if it is;

1. Secured (not just attatched to the end of intake pipe but secured with bracker etc)
2. Not an oiled type
3. The only from of induction modification (i.e. can have a pod OR an intercooler but not both).

Firstly, make sure you know the facts before advising others. they may be illegal in your state, but in vic, they are perfectly legal. and anyone who wants to argue the fact...

Just to proove you all wrong!

i see a thread arising...

i've put a pod in the factory air box, cant seem to feel a difference. you can hear it with the bonnet up, but normal driving, its barely audible. i put on a CAI the other day and its slightly louder, but meh. pods are for **** factor if you ask me.
if you wanna use a pod, just whack a shaker on with a pod straight off your TB into the shaker, true CAI

yeh the std one. i just took the adaptor off the lid of the box. mounted the pod onto the end of the standard intake pipe. took off the bolts which hold the pipe into place and put the lid on.

TB = Throttle Body

So, remove the tube completely and mount the air filter direct onto the TB.

Paper type is just non-oiled, can be had for as little as $5 sometimes from autobarn etc.
