New GT 335 would near be the fastest, as far as RWKW is concern it would be the GT 335.The W427 had about 290 to 300rwkw where the GT has about 320rwkw

Walkinshaw is a tuning company, just like KPM make high powered Fords.

In the case of production FPV GT 335 has more power then any HSV.

But depending on the drive, place and weather. On a drag strip quite close FG F6 and a FG GT (stock for stock & in auto form). This refers back to fastest or quickest down a 1/4 mile.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Fastest as in top speed, fastest down the 1/4, fastest to 100, fastest to 200, fastest from 80 to 110? Fastest in the dry, or in the wet, on gravel, sand or bitumen?

You need to define fastest - for example, the Bugatti Veyron is (was??) the fastest car in the world for top speed, but not for acceleration.

I'm thinking otherwise...

The car also had a custom tune done by none other than CV Performance in Sydney, which alowed the car to make 324.5rwkw, a gain of 42.5kw over stock.

So using math 324.5 - 42.5 = 282rwkw.

Yes it suffered drivetrain loss, but the "official" figure is 375 @ the fly...

GT 335 0-100: 4.9
W427 0-100: 4.7

Gt 335 1/4: 12.6
W427 1/4: 12.9

Both are so simmiler though... but "officially" on "factory claimed" specs the 427 pips it...

Conclusion:

W427 faster from 0 -100
GT faster down 1/4 mile

As for the OP's question: I would have thought it would be the W427 assuming we are just talking outright top speed.

It was limited to 250 like every other HSV or FPV, so not the highest top speed.

All FPVs have been limited to 250km/h +/-, HSVs have only been limited since VE and VZ HSVs could all do 260-280km/h depending on model.

The last Falcon based vehicle that did not have a speed limiter was the AU T3 but during the magazine test in 2002 up in NT where there were no limits the fasted they could get it up to was just over 240km/h despite several attempts.

XY GTs were flat out at just over 200 with the GTHO (production not secretly modded for bathurst) was between 230 and 240. The Phase 4 according to newspaper beatups was capable for 260km/h but as there was only ever one made and it was never tested it is just a claim nothing more.

From memory the fastest ever original factory standard Australian made vehicle was the VX GTS sedan at just over 280km/h.

GT 335 is also about $60,000 less than W427's price...

When you get up to and around those power figures, good tyres and a dry track is essemtial to get the best,
failing that AWD is probably the next step to guarantee the fun factor is always there...

I was referring to current models. All limited to 250.

That's before hitting NOS too. She'll really fly hitting 450km/h no problem. Take that Bugatti Veyron.

This interests me. I am an old guy and drove a new XW phase 2 that was owned by a friend. He wanted to buy one but the local dealer in Sydney had sold out. Low and behold, some weeks later he had a call that one was available. It was in the Ford Racing (or whatever they were called then) livery. He was told that Ford had specially built about a dozen for their own attempt at Bathurst but released a few that they didn't need just before the race.

I personally drove it and at 8000 RPM it was doing 81 MPH in first. A look at the manual said it was meant to do 10.1 MPH per 1000 RPM in first which matched perfectly. But the gearbox ratios after that, that is 2nd and 3rd were very different from the manual. So Ford sure did make some special ones.

If you read this far, thanks for your patience.

Can you seriously call the W427 a production car? They made 138, sold 137 of them, and lost stupid amounts of money on each one. That amount doesnt even cover homologation for motorsports.

Yes, it was a production car. As it was made avaiable to the buying public. Some racing catagories only require 1 car...

But your post was quite pointless...The Veyron was sold at a loss, still was the fastest production car in the world...

Limited production is what I would call them. I mean it's not like there were 2 made. If anything the W427 went back to the original roots of HDT and HSV in their early years of limited production models.

So yes I consider them to be a production car.

So you would not call a FPV Force 6, Force 8, F6X or Pursuit or even all the XW-XY GTHOs production cars either?
