Hey everyone!
Looks like I'm organising yet another cruise for us Mexicans!! it: Where are you all hiding?!?!?!!!!! : I think a combination of gorgeous fresh cool mountain air and a nice hot lunch is in order, perhaps for a relaxed cruise into the Macedon Ranges, only an hour North of Melbourne and well worth the drive up the Calder. It's about 60km or so, maybe a little more, we could climb Mt MAcedon (1001m) to the lookout for pics, then cruise into the township for lunch, maybe then onto Hanging Rock only 5km North of Mt Macedon and then have a little backroad cruise perhaps, does anyone know some good spots to visit? I'd be happy taking a thermos of soup, buying a meat pie (and buying Resty the lunch I owe him!!) and just cruising up through the cool air to Hanging Rock via Mt Macedon. I would also LOVE to see some Focus MkII owners along if they are interested, would be a great, relaxed introduxtory cruise for anyone to bring along their new car, new friends or even their family!! Let's get the ball rolling and pick some dates, see when people can attend!! I'd love to see Melbzetec there too!!! Bring your family if you're interested, this will the the Eurofordclub's first Family Cruise perhaps!! Maps and info on Mt Macedon shown below! http://www.macedon-ranges.vic.gov.au...cedonMtMac.pdf Mount Macedon (taken from http://www.macedon-ranges.vic.gov.au...age_Id=246&h=0) Macedon and Mount Macedon boasts an array of grand gardens, many of which are open to the public in spring through to autumn. Wander through these mature but ever changing gardens, a mixture of rare and exotic trees and plants set against a backdrop of the rich Australian bushland. The Mount Macedon and Macedon townships are located only 50 minutes North West of Melbourne's CBD. It is home to the Memorial Cross and Macedon Regional Park both are popular attractions and offer visitors a panoramic view of the region. Mount Macedon is the highest peak (1,013 meters) in the Ranges. The area is a little cooler than Melbourne, and in winter parts of it are subject to occasional snowfalls. For those wanting a taste of adventure visit the reserves at Stanley Park Waterfall and Sanatorium Lake these facilities give you the opportunity for picnics, walking trails, rock climbing and the proximity to the mysterious Hanging Rock makes the area attractive to all ages. There is always plenty to see and do in the beautiful Mount Macedon district – galleries, tea rooms, golf course right through to , wineries just to name a few. You can stop along the way and enjoy the beautiful gardens of Mount Macedon and explore the specialised nurseries in the area. The stunning settings of these famous gardens reflect Macedon Ranges’ statusas as a favourite country retreat.

Great idea. Am anxious to come. Let's just not pick Mothers Day!!!!!
Whether my wife will come is another question. Believe it or not she is starting to think I am a bit tragic!!! Her only comments about the new leather gear boots and alloy shift knob is (with a smile on her face) " oooh... that'll make it go faster!" Cynical my wife! Described the stainless steel catback as " a bit of bling under the car". What is the best day of the weekend? Most would prefer a Sunday I would think, although Saturdays have their appeal! An early start on a Sunday is probably my preferred. I'll think about some dates

Sounds like a great cruise
Pity the only cars I could take along are Falcons, so unless you want a photographer in a big car, I guess I won't be coming on this one, that is unless anybody wants someone to ride shotgun and take photos and video Quote:

Looks like it will be a Sunday so far judging by our responses, will be great to have you along James, it has been a while!! This won't be a massive cruise either meaning fuel wont be too expensive!! *cough* Bryce...
Will check tomorrow for preferences - look into the magic diary py: EDIT - Just checked - 21st is out, it's the date of the John Bowe - Drive to Survive Driver training course being organised here on the forums which I am attending. I'm cool with 7th or 14th.

Scraped the **** of the car last night. So I won't be looking pretty on the 14th.. I'll still give it a wash though!
Was backing out of the driveway in the dark, as usual neighbour has parked opposite the drive, making it tight. So I made sure I was on a tight left hand lock so as not to hit him, and constantly checking the distance in the drivers wing mirror to make sure. Didn't come close to hitting him.............. But did scrape his stupid sons black VW passat parked in front of him (parked across his driveway and 18'' out from the curb... who parks there??) Didn't bloody see him or realize he was there Pi##*d of with my own stupidity

Likewise my front bumper is a bit mushed after I drove over one of those concrete parking barriers, the little 10cm high thingies, a bolt was sticking out and I managed to allmost rip off my front bumper when I reversed again. Not Happy Jan.

Last year it was our anniversay, this yeah, the 14th of August is a birthday - I hadn't looked at what date it was going to be until I realised that its the same date as another event, and then I realised both events are being held on a birthday, so...

Good luck with the roster mate, REPCO huh? I'll refrain from the repco jokes (I'm sure you've heard them all anyway), I have just two questions: How did you land a job there (I'm still looking for work and would appreciate any help) and do you get staff discount?

I just found the job through SEEK. Not sure if they are still advertising, but you could give it a shot. Its only a part time job, so I only basically work on weekends.
As for staff discount, its not that great, somethings are cheaper then others but if you go in on a 20% off sale you will probably be getting the same if not better deal then us. |
