Default XCAL1 now obsolete

Dear AFF member,

You will have been reading over the past 16 months some speculation about the future of the XCAL1 Ford flash tuner.

The Ford XCAL1 has enjoyed support for the past 5 years and has been instrumental in bringing the Ford fight right up to the GMH product, with outstanding results from all Australian vehicles supported.

I can honsestly say that at Bluepower Racing developments, we have been gobsmacked at the sheer level of support shown by the Australian SCT dealer in Herrod Motorsport. Their efforts in maintaining a dealer database that concentrates on keeping the product and people using the product at the cutting edge, so that you, the ford buying public can enjoy products the way they were meant to be enjoyed is nothing short of exceptional, and above and beyond the call.

Now, a good thing has come to an end, the little legendary black box that helped us deliver the 11sec NA Boss and the first 10 sec Boss is to be retired.

The XCAL1 will still work on vehicles, but the dealers will be unable to access them and burn any changes.

This is due to the pressing need for the ZF6spd auto software, and SCT's inability to provide the time to do both, so it is a natural progression that support for the product will cease to be.

However, there will be a changeover period where an XCAL1 owner can upgrade their workable, non vin locked XCAL1 to an XCAL3 and recieve a $200 payment from Herrod motorsport for a strictly limited period only.

Now we have an oppurtunity for people that have XCAL1's that are up to 5 years old to UPGRADE and recieve a product that is current both in warranty and technology.

Great to see Herrods putting our case forward to SCT, and great to see the chaps at SCT approving such a move.

For any queries/questions, please feel free to call 03 9305 3000

Chris

Great to see suppliers such as Herrods supporting the customers. Also great to see ZF software finally on the way!

Good to see Herrod looking after customers that in reality he really had no obligations to.

Chris i thank you for your kind words .
One of the questions that has been asked is how long is the offer for?
The answer is 90 days.
I have decided to extend this date by a couple of weeks and make the cut date the end of september so people dont miss out as i feel a date through the middle of the month my become confusing to some .

This offer is redeemable through every Herrod/SCT dealer Australia and NZ.

Another point is can you transfer your tune from the X1 to the X3

You can do this but you must go back to the tuner that did the tune on your vehicle as they should have your tune on file and will be able to load it onto the X3 - if not you will need to have the car re-tuned.

When upgrading to the X3 the X1 must be returned to stock and sent back to us with a receipt of purchase for the X3.
If it has not been returned to stock we will not be sending out the $200.00

I've got a CAPA 'Ford Flasher' box (XCAL1) but the car wasn't returned to stock when it was traded in.

Bugger.

Ok that seems fair but when is the ZF update coming out? I will take this offer up once the update is released.

Vic,

$795 for the XCAL3, mail your invoice and unlocked flash tuner to herrods for a $200 rebate, making it effectivley a $595 outlay.

So Champion , with my file on your laptop, is it the same procedure?

Or do you set the XCAL1 back to std and Herrods post me the cheque??

Or you just charge me the $595 and handle the swap at your end ???

Just curious bud, have a great week mate- feel free to PM me or i will ring you shortly next week..Daz..xx..

I need some tuneability with this Sucrogen E85 ,so updating was inevitable :( *sigh*
