What would you stick into a falcon if you could:
A) spec anything that ford AU has in its current lineup B) spec anything within the Ford empire (Aston, Jag, Volvo, US Ford etc) Engines, brakes, mechanicals, interiors, gadgets, etc. What would you stick into your ultimate falcon? |

As some of you may already know of my Bl00dy Awful MkII XR8 ute, and the list of problems it HAS had, and CONTINUES to have, I'd have to say that something RELIABLE would be a good start.
Should NEVER have sold the AUII XR8 ute... |

GTP with Triflex fuel V10, two turbo chargers, 2 electric motors (hybrid) from the Escape, 6 speed auto, air suspension from the Disco3 but sports car style, F750 brakes (cross drilled), maybe a Jaguar interior - but Harley Davidson style, Volvo safety gear, maybe some Lincoln extra touches here and there, make sure that FPV, Cosworth, SVT, and Saleen get working on it together too, to make it the best they possibly can.

Ok lets see....
BF FPV GT looking... Shockwave with white stripes... Interior would stay FPV style... 6.4litre V10 from the 2004 Shelby GR-1 and Cobra concept cars... which has 605hp (451kW) @ 6750rpm 501ftlbs (679Nm) @ 5500rpm and redlines at 7500rpm. Gearbox would be the six-speed sequential out of the Aston Martin V12 Vanquish. Wheels would be the ones off the 2006 Ford Tungsten GT, which can be seen here which are 18 x 9 inch at the front with Goodyear Eagle F1 supercar tyres at 235/45 ZR18 and 19 x 11.5 inch at the rear with Goodyear Eagle F1 supercar tyres at 315/40 ZR19. And then the handling setup made to be a mix of Mustang GT-R concept and FPV GT gear for the right mix of street and track. That's IMO the perfect Ford car, made off stuff currently in Ford's world wide arsenal.

I'd have a heart attack while trying to work out what I want! Too much good stuff, not enough space to put it!!!!
But yeah, it's something like: - BA/BF Falcon Coupe - huge GTP rims with Semi Slick licorice strap tyres housing a set of racing-grade Ceramic stoppers - six-speed paddle shift 'box - Volvo can work out the safety system - The biggest lump of V8 or V10 that'll fit in the front from the Shelby or SVT stables - The exhaust system from the AM Vantage of 10 years ago - The interior I'll leave for the Aston boys to dream about - Shockwave will be the colour with the matching white stripes I think I'd be quite happy with that combo.... :

An all aluminium, fuel injected, twin turbo, 351 Cleveland into a new XD ute body with Ford Territory all wheel drive (but not the height, still nice & low...)
That will do, oh maybe throw in a decent air cond. system & the 6 speed manual box out of a BF GT. A nice blend of old & new in a classic tough ute style. Well that's what I want anyway. I would like an FPV GT-P (a coupe version would also be alright) with an all-aluminium body/chassis (using jaguar's methods), fitted with the 7.0L V10 in the '427 concept' shown a few years back. Also use the Jaguars version of the ZF 6-speed auto gearbox to handle the extra power/torque while using the software thats fitted in the aussie-spec ZF auto.
With the aluminium body and the V10 (which is lighter than a 5.4 V8 if im correct), the car should lose about 200kg (similar to what the XJ lost), maybe more. Specs: Engine: 7.0L V10 DOHC V10 590hp (440kw) @ 6500rpm 509ft-lbs (691nm) @ 5500rpm Weight: 1670kg Performance: 0-100kph about 4.0 seconds 0-400m about 11.9 seconds note: the 6.4L V10 stated by steffo could also be used, but i prefer more cubes :evil3: |

Either a Fiesta ST with the XR5 Turbo engine/trans and 18" wheels and AWD out of an S40...
Or a Ford GT stock as a rock. Either way I'd be a happy happy man!

A hand-crafted car that offers electrifying performance and outstanding agility. 4.3 litre 283 kW (380 bhp) engine, designed for flexibility as well as outright performance, the front mid-mounted V8 also delivers an outstanding aural experience, as one would expect with a maximum speed of 280 km/h. Lightweight, all-alloy structure, class-leading strength and rigidity. The front mid-engined layout – dry sump lubrication system allows the engine to sit low – rear-mid transmission provides optimum front to rear weight distribution as well as a low centre of gravity. Exceptional agility and inspired balance and handling.
Beautiful sports car lines, maintaining a unique identity. Hand-trimmed in the finest quality materials, the cabin is that of an authentic sports car. Driver and passenger sit low, close to the car's centre of gravity, where they can feel the car reacting to the input of the driver – it's a special sensation, usually only experienced in racing cars. The connection between car and driver is very direct. Very sporting. Instantaneous. Built by hand – not for sentimental reasons but because only craftsmen can deliver the design details and level of finish that engineers and designers demand. This level of detail and finish is simply not possible in high-volume manufacture. The all-alloy structure, the lightweight body, the hand-assembled V8 engine, the sophisticated electronic controls and audio systems: all are engineered to a level of technology rarely seen in the automotive industry. This mix of technology, tradition and low volume makes for an exclusive, advanced and uniquely desirable car. This V8 is a high-performance sports car, yet the engine is so tractable, the handling so predictable, the visibility so good and the controls so easy to use that it is as comfortable in town or city as it is on country roads or even the track. Body: - Two seat, two door body with rear tailgate - Bonded aluminium structure - Aluminium alloy, steel, composite, and magnesium alloy body - Extruded aluminium side impact bars - Rear parking sensors - Halogen projector headlamps - LED rear lamps Engine: - All alloy quad overhead camshaft 32 valve, 4.3 litre V8 - Variable inlet camshaft timing - Dry sump lubrication system - Fully catalysed stainless steel exhaust system with active bypass valves - Front-mid mounted engine - Rear wheel drive Projected Performance figures: - Maximum power: 283kW (380 bhp / 385 PS) @ 7300 rpm - Maximum torque: 410Nm (302 lb.ft) @ 5000 rpm - Maximum speed: 280 km/h (175 mph) - 0-60 mph in 4.9 seconds - 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.0 seconds Oh what car??? the Ford owned Aston Martin V8 Vantage. I think it uses the Zf transmission also...and check out the site, the interior looks a lot like a sexed up Falcon or could it be the Falcon is an dumbed down luxury car??? These are sex on wheels and out of the "ford" stable. |

I would choose T3 TL50 With the new Astin Martin Vanquish running gear. Luxuary with even more performance.

I rang everyone I could think of after I bought my coupe and asked them ALL "How many doors/pedals/cylinders" should their perfect car have - they ALL answered 2 doors, 3 pedals, 8 cylinders; and hey that's what I've got.
But, my car is no comparison to a 427 s/c AWD replica GT40. Or, any of the suggestions above with links to Aston Martin, Jaguar, and other Ford Parts Bin products. Some fantastic ideas there. |
