Default The less than three that is E-series

There is not a thing that can not be fixed, pulled apart or broken through-out the entire E-series range that does not include:
High-temp bearing grease, zip ties, super glue and a 13mm spanner.

mmm Start from the start eh.
Starter motor replaced, battery replaced, buttons in climate control replaced, cruise control malfunction, fixed easy but still a head****. Today, front wheel bearings/rotors/pads... 1st time i'd done those without assistance or watching someone.. was quite the experience. I've bruised both hands, stupid metal breaker bar. :(
This was all back yard **** aswell, no hoist.. only ramps and jacks and stands... i'm sure some here have done worse though hahah. *thinks of money saved on labour*

Took the engine out of my old EB, on a 15 odd degree slope while it was sitting on timber offcuts and the jack that came with the car (and a trolly jack, bit more professional). When the engine was on the crane pulled it up the slope using a transit van and $20 straps. In 2 days, all for a measly $250.

Edit: As a testament to my dodegy-ness, the most used tool in my current audio install is the humble kitchen knife. :

been there done that, but with old wheels instead of bricks

How would ramps help in a job where the wheels need to be removed from the car?

I think you'd be safer with bricks than 20+ yrs old ramps :P Hence why I used jack + tyre next to jack + a frame stand under body. If all that fails i've still got flesh and bone to protect myself.. or umm.. errrr.

Yeah this isn't random at all, but try dismantling an EB on mud with only a few bricks and 3 logs for support.

Ramps would be used when necessary, for removing wheels we would use a jack and chassis stands.

try removing pacemaker 4-into-1's on an XD with only a block of wood under the crossmember... never again....
or bottoming out a gemini on a sand hill and having to push it off the stock stands 17 times to get it to move, and eventually roll down said hill....
pulling the body off a hilux, with a piece of rope over a branch, then onto my XR8 towbar.

Or getting your head stuck under the sills. She was a bit too low and the rear springs were non captive so when letting jack down i had to lay under it and hold the springs in place. The jack let go too quick and :MUM QUICK LIFT THE xxxxxxx CAR UP IM STUCK. : Ive learnt my lesson now.

I did an auto gearbox swap on the wagon in the driveway by myself with the car supported on stands.

Ive done heaps of manual swaps and clutch's like this but it was the first auto and DAMN they are heavy when they are full of oil.

Sometimes you need a VL Commodore to pull the radiator support of smashed EA's out to make them driveable again. The 13mm didn't cut it for that job.....
