Haaaa.....

Why am I not surprised....

Met a yank in a hostel in Sth Korea. Decided to go out for a bite in a local traditional restaurant. Insisted in a "Burger and fries" Because in the states all places sell "Burger and fries"......

What did he want to drink? A soda of course!.... Did he want me to explain the menu, or the food that was actually on offer? Of course not.

Did he have any interest in learning to say hello or thankyou in Korean. Hell No! It's THEM who should be speaking English.

I started to boil, told him that it was obvious that it was the first time he had left his country and that he should be ashamed of himself to decide to go travelling with such an attitude.....

He proved me wrong that he had actually been to another country. Canada.

I bit my tongue and walked out....

Again... why am I not surprised........

How the hell did that question blindsind her? It was very straightforward and easy to understand... her reply made absolutley no sense whatsoever.

A normal person's answer would be something like, "I believe our public education is inadequate in this country," or something along those lines... not a 30 sec ramble about absolutley nothing!

I felt sorry for her. She froze like hell. She wanted to win the pageant...do you think saying, "Because our educational system sucks" is going to make her popular?

A better response may have been, "Because everybody is too busy scoffing down hamburgers to care about where we are. We need to lose weight and become stick insects like myself and my peers next to me."

I think pageants are nothing but eye candy for men. They ride sky high for a few hours (the winner) then by the next year, are EX-pageant winners. It's a hard world.
