Hey guys need help urgently. changed the trans in my au with another one from
my old au which i know works. we used the torque converter from the old one aswell. gave it a service and put it in. now it does sweet f.... all. put it in reverse and it move ten feet maybe and in drive i got it around the block but no faster than 20kmh as its just slipping. Really could use some help on this one cheers jason

We put oil in it until it came out of the hole on the side. it wAs in the air and even.
Does the oil have to settle then chhseck it again?

Yes, you can't just fill it with fluid first time around and leave it at that.
You must fill it up initially to full then start and run through gears (standing still) for a few minutes then fill again - might take another 2 litres then no harm in driving around the block a few times and checking (and possibly topping up) a THIRD time... might take another 500ml. That's what I did. |

that's the norm mate, you never get it full with one pan full, you have to keep topping it up after running through the gears engine running.
