Default Police Car Thread

I searched for one and didn't find one.

What sort of squad cars does your police force drive ?
The Crown Vic is still popular here in the states but the Dodge Charger is getting popular.

Here are a few pics of our Cruisers in Massachusetts.

Post up your local police car pics.

Cheers !

95% of Australias Police force cars in the metro areas of capital cities drive either Falcon or Commodore. Other vehicles like VW vans are used here in SA, so are Captivas and Territories are used in other states. In the Country/Outback Niassan Patrols and Landcruisers are a favourite. Mitusibishi 380s and Toyota Camrys are used as official Police traffic escorts on the national Highway in South Australia and probably in other states too.

But most aussie cop cars are either Toyota Aurion, Holden Commodore or Ford Falcon.

Just a few, may or may not still be in service. Basically if it has wheels, it could be a cop car here :

Saw this when I was in Melbourne in March.

Sorry for poor picture quality, was taken out of a moving vehicle and couldn't quite zoom out enough to get the whole thing in.

Heres a couple from Hawaii. The Dodge was at the Dole Plantation, the Ford was in Waikiki. The cop in the Dodge told us it was a take home car, which is evidenced by the removable lights on the roof. Also found a NYPD Chevy Malibu(?) near Central Park.

I was in Detroit earlier this yeah, the sheriff got a Charger, most others were Crown Vics, and I also saw a GMC van.

Otherwise, for home, see MITCHAY's post.

It's in Sydney's CBD - i guess they just use it to trip from cop station to station around the city. can't imagine it being used for much more..

I bet the yank's that are reading this thread are all thinking how hot our Aussie cop cars are, and they wouldn't dare trying to outrun them!

ha ha ha
most towns and cities do have push bars and yes they do actually use them to push abandoned cars out of the way of traffic.
And yes XR6 There is no way you could outrun one of your cruisers those things are sick.
Thanks again for the photos these cars are blowing me away. Look at our big clunker Crown Vics. ha ha ha So much of a difference.

well those are the exception to the rule : )
ha ha

Those are "Show" cars for parades and functions They don't actually use them to chase the bad guys. Probably afraid the cop will wreck the car.
