I drove my new Fg F6 home upon delivery to notice a coolant smell & summised that it was a new car / fresh motor, so walked away contempt.
Came out an hour later to put the car in my shed & noticed a pool of coolant. Parked NEW car in garage & found coolant tank empty & the cap loose. That is when I thought I best check the oil level. Was less than impressed to find oil was 12mm over/past the full mark. Ford & dealer quality control/check is ? They did rectify. Recently had 6mth service which included oil change & go figure . About 8mm over full. I wish I could buy booze over full. I'd be happy to run that risk of overfull ? I did wonder when I supplied my own oil & I asked the guy who did the job how much oil it took to be told over 6lts. Pushed for more detail as the filter holds oil but ... huh. : : |

Mate I wouldn't be too worried about a little extra oil in the sump. People often overfill sumps by as much as 1 litre on track days when the car is getting a flogging. If I was you, I would try to find what happened to cause the loss of coolant as it is much more of a concern. |
