I meet a few individuals in my line of work but this in Melboune is just the lowest of animal cruelty

Agreed its getting frustrating as there seems to be more and more cases of animal cruelty. I cant understand how people could think of doing some of the things that they do.

Time for our justice system to enforce some adequate punishment and send message to people

I heard this on the radio this morning on the way to work.

How twisted do people have to be to do this sort of thing??? Absolute disgrace!

This is surely a sickening act, i am hearing this nearly every news break on the radio- but my great aunt 84 has been missing for 2 and a half weeks from her home in Brunswick (melbourne) and did not receive the media coverage that this act of animal cruelty has.

sorry about the rant

Rob

Most serial type killers appear to start with some form of animal cruelty, don't let people like this get away with this sort of thing.

Just recently some bloke here in Perth repeatedly beat his dog with a hammer, and had to be put down.

Some people need to be slowly and painfully removed from the gene pool. Bring back public floggings.

Yeah the courts are too soft, if they caught him he'd blame a rough upbringing, booze, drugs, whatever, temp insanity, some guff, and cop a fine or small jail term(usually suspended). Bloody hopeless.

I'd like to know how they managed this on a horse. You would think an animal of that size would defend itself quite well.

Culprit should be tied up and horse kicked to death.

^^^agreed, probably get off on insanity etc.

Put em in a room with the owners and let them choose the punishment. The poor horse wouldnt have even shown any aggression at all till it was too late.

Yes was reading that this morning... its very sickening.

Animal cruelty is on the rise.
The links between abuse on humans and animal cruelty is a fact.
Seeminly this must mean we ourselves are becoming more depraved?

Can't fathom this act of cruelty - simply cannot comprehend how another human being could get any gratification out of such an abhorrent act.

Must have been more than one scumbucket involved to try and tackle an animal of that size.

Like wise - the first thing that comes to mind - an eye for an eye.

An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind.

I do agree however that stiffer penalties need to be applied.

2 1/2 weeks!

I hope it turns out ok for her and your family, that's terrible.

I'm more worried about the reactions these animal cruelty stories get than the animal cruelty itself (although it is nasty and horrible and the people involved need to be caught and punished, no argument there). People have been doing horrific things forever, we just hear more about it now.

Can only agree with all the sentiment here. Execute the basterds!

Harsher penalties for intended acts of violence and malice.
Softer penalties for accidental victimless 'crimes'.

The world is **** about!

We have been baffled .
We have been applying missing person posters around Melbourne suburbs around the MCG before to 2 Grand Finals hoping that some one had seen something.
No recent news....

You would think some one would have seen an elderly lady in distress... or injured unless there has been some foul play .

Whats the bet if the culprits get caught they will be slapped on the wrist with warning and a fine?

I hate to be a skeptic but real justice never gets dealt with here for crimes like this, unless your classed as a 'hoon', then you get criminally charged with the entire book of the law. Lopsided much?

Cruelty to animals is a lower act than 'chirping' your tires at the lights or speeding 5kph over the speed limit. But this is another story and not for this thread, so I wont go any further about it.

Indeed - and looks to have taken a trophy.

If caught, this mongrel will likely get a slap on the wrist and then surprise a few years down the track when he ramps it up.

What are the police saying? I just cant imagine how someone could be missing for 2 1/2 weeks and no word from anyone. Sorry to say it, but it doesnt sound like there will be good news. I mean as you say if someone found her and she is unaware of who she is, they would at least contact police you would think, I would. Does she suffer from dementia or something?

Mate, I have no idea what to say.

Same area where that dog was stabbed a couple of months ago.

This is why vigilantism is better than any law enforcement as we don't need these kind of scumbags in society!

One major problem with this country, THE PUNISHMENT NEVER FITS THE CRIME. Until this happens, this stuff will continue to happen. These people (if you can call them that) need a shotgun to the head
