Hi all, Quick question,
I have booked in my AUII for 3 'checks' to see if they are covered by the Ford extented warrenty. Can the Ford dealer charge my anything if I get nothing done? (for what ever reason) Uncle_Ken

Yes, they can charge you the per hour or part thereof rate for the time they take to look at these things. In the interests of Customer Service, they shouldn't, but they can.

Thanks for that. It's a bit much that they say they have to check with Ford 1st to see if its covered and then charge you for doing nothing.
Oh well I'll find out tomorrow. Uncle_Ken PS If anyone is lurking from Power Ford I will be posting how things turn out.

read your terms and conditions of the extened warranty, FORd might mean ONLY FORD can do any work.. It is a way of capturing clientel and covering their asses if someone not up-to spec(read cheaper ) does the work..

So under the normal warrenty KMART is OK but not for extended?
I told Ford that I will get the 60k service if the warrenty is still OK. My car has 63 on the clock. Thanks for your comments so far Racecraft Uncle_Ken

Well.....
By 2:30 the mess had been sorted. I get the 60k service done by FORD, I get to keep the extended warrenty and I was told today the Power Sterring leak will be fixed under warrenty. I was also informed that the 60k service is free (don't knwo about oil etc) so no cost here. Will post Saterday to see if I'm up for any charges for todays email-a-thon with FORD warrenty. Uncle_Ken PS the service guy Lee from Power Ford was very good throughout the phones today.
