Default WS Fiesta Speakers?

Hey

Just a quick question, does anyone know the dimensions of the 6 speakers in the WS Zetec?

(obviously two are tweeters in the front so really just after the sizes of the front and back woofers)

Thanks

I'd love to help mate but not willing to take the door panels off just yet

Check on the Euro forums in the UK - they should know.

DLS, Alpine, Cadence and Polk spring to mind, there's a few brands but it's not the easiest size to find.

Had a quick look, all the 5x7's i've seen are co-axial (have a tweeter mounted on top of the woofer)... making the stock tweeter pointless!! :/

I could be wrong but I think I recall seeing either Alpine or DLS with component 5x7s.

I would just put in new 3-way 5x7's in the back and have them run from an amp. Check the wattage on the stock front 5x7's and see if they can be run from an amp. Will improve the sound heaps just by having them working at the peak performance. Because the headunit in the car is probably only putting out about 30watts to each speaker, if its that much.

Im putting a bulk pack of dynamat in the car. putting some on the inner dooe skin and then seal up the outer frame. Ill asses it from there but will probably put some on the floor under the carpet (firewall area) and of course the boot hatch.

Should sound heaps better and quiet when on the road.

Where can you buy the Dynamat from and is it an easy job to install?

Do you think,it is worth on a WQ lx fiesta, upgrading the speakers to the speakers found in a zetec for instance.
I remember reading a post a while ago.I mean the lx has a paper cone, and the zetec polypropylene. There for my sister so i am interested in ordering them, fuss free, installation, and minimal increased in quality,is what i am looking for.
Just need a zetec WQ VIN number now : .

I reckon the speakers in the WS are really tinny, I had some hard dance going from my ipod to the one in the dealership to test it out and it seemed to have no bass to it at all.

Not sure if it was a Zetec or if you adjusted the bass, mid and treble through the MFD but in our Zetec I was pleasantly surprised by the bass output from the Zetec's audio.

Turning on DSP also is pretty good.

Yeh,the speakers arent actually to bad,at producing bass, very suprising.I suspect thew one at the dealership had the bass set low.But the quality i still want to improve in my sisters car.

That probably would have been it then because it had no bass at all unfortunately.

What price are you looking at for the Zetec speakers? I've previously been quoted $140 for a pair of Polk Audio 5x7s that would deliver a noticeable increase in quality. Just my thoughts that depending on where you were sourcing the Zetec units from, you might get better improvement for your dollar going aftermarket anyway.

Yeh that's a good point, wasn't looking at spending too much. Will have to see how much the zetec speakers are,it might be a better idea to go aftermarket.
