Exclamation NSW Classic Ford Cruise 10 (10th September 2006)

The next Classic Ford Cruise is coming up. As this is our tenth cruise its going to be BIG. As such we are inviting plenty of clubs, forums etc this time. Some of you may have picked up a flyer at All Ford Day, but for those that didn't, here it is...

Classic Ford Cruise 10 Flyer.pdf

There should be some quite impressive euro Ford's along for the day such as Sierra Cosworth's, Escort Cosworth and Focus XR5 Turbo's. It would certainly be great to see some more euro Ford's along for the day and to meet some more EuroFordClub members

Damo,

The guys at Classic Ford Club have a really good mix of awesome cars. I might have to check the calender as there's a possibility of going down to VIC for the Rally of Melbourne. Otherwise, I'll see if I make it.

All the details are on the flyer. I will post some maps soon of the meet point and destination, but hopefully we will have course notes ready for the day to ensure noone gets lost.

Heading up the old pacific hwy...It will be a great day out, do not be shy, just come along. Seano will be in his 14.4sec standard XR5 turbo, there will be many small fords including Cosworth powered machines. See the first post at the top of the page.

Thumbs up

UPDATE FROM CLASSIC FORD FORUM:

This is shaping up to be a great event. Many of the invited clubs have shown an enthusiastic interest in the cruise.

Capri Car Club was informed of the cruise at their last meeting at which flyers were handed out and I would expect some of their members to attend.

Euro Ford Club also were quite enthusiastic about the cruise so once again I would expect to see some of their members along.

Miyagi (from FordXR5Turbo.com) and myself are trying to rustle up some more interest amoungst the NSW XR5 owners and will continue promoting the cruise.

I have also just been in contact with a member of the Hunter British Ford Group who will pass on flyers to their members and list the event on their calender. Being based in Newcastle, their members may meet us at Patonga rather than Thornleigh.

Both RSOC and SFCC have the event listed on their calenders and informed most members where possible. I would expect healthy numbers from both clubs as usual.

Phil also kindly handed out flyers at the recent All Ford Day from which I have had a few emails regarding the event.

Should be a great day!

Sounds good Photn. I think I have a photo from my own collection of your Fez without the stripes. So, it'll be good to have a look at the latests additions.

Important information regarding CFC10...

Here are some maps showing location of the meet point (Thornleigh McDonalds)...

Entry to Thornleigh McDonalds is via Central Avenue.

Arrival time at the meet point is 9:30am. When you arrive at the meet point please come and see me or Phil (in Orange XR5 Turbo) as I will be handing out 'course notes' which will get you to our destination. The notes will also contain other important information, such as speed camera locations ;) Also, for anyone who plans on taking video footage on the day I will give you a stamped envelope containing a blank CD(s) in the hopes you can burn your video footage to CD and send it to me to add into to the CFC10 video compilation

We will depart from Thornleigh McDonalds at 10:00am SHARP so please be on time. We will be making a fuel stop and re-grouping at Berowra... and between Berowra and Patonga we may make a few stops to re-group and take photos. Total distance of cruise will be 83km and estimated arrival time in Patonga is 11:45am - 12:00pm. Lunch will be at Patonga Beach Fish Cafe opposite jetty or BYO lunch. After lunch people generally hang around for a little while to check out each others Ford's and have a chat. Hopefully at Patonga we will also be met by some members of the Hunter British Ford Group who plan on heading down from up Newcastle way. We usually have another convoy heading back to Sydney after the cruises aiming to arrive back in Sydney by about 4:00pm... so feel free to stay for this too.

Here is an image of Patonga... its a great location... lets hope the weather is kind to us.

Anyways ill be there with a new cameraman. Oh and should go hard @ Patonga Beach Fish Cafe . The fish and chips are MaSsiVe.

Yeah, who would have thought we could get this much rain in Sydney

I am still clinging on to a glimmer of hope that there will be a band of sunshine stretching between Thornleigh and Patonga tomorrow :ticking:

Either way the cruise will still be on :eclipsee_
