Interesting read, probably a sign of what we can expect on the Falcon too.

looks like the commodore may be getting alot of the global technologies, shame ford couldnt do the same with the falcon.

Internally, GM people were saying GEN V V8 with DI has been canned for regular Commodore,
but HSV might get the good engine and 8-speed auto.. |

I'd say that Ford is getting good bang for bucks in terms of fuel economy gains. |

the main reason territory got EPAS was because Park Assist was going to be a feature available with it. Ford Australia can include so many features with their vehicles, try telling the champs running the place that the buying public want these features. voice control, Radar cruise control, blind spot alert, Key Free, heated front seats, rain sensing wipers, mirrors that fold in with the press of a button etc etc the list is endless of the features they can include in the Falcon and Terriroty that the rest of the world has been using for at least 5 years. |

Glad to see the local cars finally getting some gadgets into them.. I just hope the gap between 2013 VF & 2014 FH is not too big.. Dumb **** gadgets sell cars these days!!!

If Holden come through with all of those features, the Falcon is going to seem very low-tech in comparison. It's about time an Aussie car started getting global tech, even if the only reason it's getting it is because the yanks will be importing Commodores.

So the new commodore will simply be more plastic, more expensive and still slow as a wet week...
Cool... Edit: and mood lighting?! Seriously?? What's the point in that?

All of that reads well to me, seems the export program is yeilding rewards for Australian customers already.

So Commodore will be with us for longer than anticipated? Not too long ago they were saying Commodore would soon be no more and FWD architecture was coming post-VF. Its a pity Holden has been in front in the budget stakes. Still an ongoing aftermath of the shining success VT vs the less than stellar AU...

Lol AU bashing?
AU actually sold well, and the BA sold better? VF was always going to go through till 2018...and if the VF does a good job and the exports are sucessfull, maybe longer.

Don't always believe what is written will make it onto the car. I laugh at half the stuff journalists write the up and coming Ford's and Holden's will feature.

But seriously, sounds alright. I'm more interested in what the final version looks like. Not these Wheels and Motor computer guesses. |

VTs built: 303,895 (http://autospeed.com.au/cms/title_25...9/article.html) Not bashing the AU. Bashing the source of the AU design: the parent company who forced the 'new edge' styling concept on Ford AUS. If Ford AUS had their own say in the design they probably would have churned out the BA or a rehashed top-seller EL in 1998. Surely more sales would mean recouped investment and more money future R&D which we would have seen by now. |
