I just got it!
Its a BMW F650GS DAKAR, built 6/2004. Its my dream bike infact :-) i have only ridden it on the driveway so far! lol, and its way more powerful than anything I've ridden before! (not registerd yet) It has a Staintune sports exhaust and a K&N filter, its really loud! Like some crazy dirt biker, but its a BM! cool! Its a bit unexpected to be so raucous! Its a single cylinder with 2 spark plugs and is fuel injected, has 50 or 55kw or so. The exhaust gives it an extra 5Hp at the wheel. I just keep going out starting it up, and giving it a rev! must be annoying the neighbours! Its got Michelin Desert tyres, they're real grippy! Would rip the grass out of your front yard! You like it? Anyone ridden something like this? |

I was looking in the dealers, and they are $14,150 +orc. And 12 -18 month old ones(current model) go for bout 12 to 13500 ish. Mine was a little bit cheaper than that. I havnt had a bike registered for a few years, and will keep this just for a little while, then sell, lol. Cant have one all the time, as they are dangerous! (and my fiance isnt happy!) I Just HAD to have it. you know how it is........
Its got heated handles too! Its a pretty big bike, and is suited to big outback adventures and the like. Oh, seems it would have just under 50kw. anyway, thats heaps, nearly as much as a Hyundai! Meant to do just over 5 seconds to 100. Last edited by EDManual; 25-06-2005 at 10:27 PM. |

I hired one of these a few years ago when I was in NZ.
It was a fun thing to tool around on, felt a lot different to my Duc, obviously, however it was cool to ride. Rick.

Now a Ducati is more my style although I always rode jap bikes a Laverda once almost came my way but impending marriage killed that one off.
What you got Rick? I am thinking I am spending too much time on the old wagon when I could scare myself less for half the price and smile for days after a nice bike ride even on a dirt basher. |

You guys must hate me, I've got a gf who goes gah-gah over bikes and I don't even own one.
Must remember to buy a MV Agusta then laugh at her when I remind her it doesn't have a pillion seat. She just goes nuts over the things, but then again, who could blame her. |

I don't normally like BM bikes at all, but with the slight hint of off-road action that is the nicest BM bike i've seen! Nice purchase!
I've got the RMX for the dirt..... yet to buy my first road bike, but really like the Buell's!!!
