Ian Callum retires after 20 years at Jaguar. This talented man had a role in designing some incredibly good looking metal over the years, in fact some of my absolute favorites. The first gen Jaguar XF and XE, the Aston Martin DB9 and the stunning F-Type and XK all on my lotto wish list.

Legendary stylist. My fav was the XJ and the way they so confidently re-created the brief for the large luxury sedan - grandad always had an XJ back in the day. Interior of the new one was a gem, too. Highlight of it was the XJ's used on Royal family Australia tours, or in (Will & Kate I think) Royal Weddings.
I'll never forget being in a pub carpark back in the UK in 2013 and one of the new, yet-to-be released F-Types was parked there - so low, so wide, amazing shape. And the F-Pace is what a Territory became, in spirit. Roll on the Jaguar I6! The next transistion for the Jag range will be full electric, and if the I-Pace is anything to go by, it will look current and svelte.

Little piece of useless information I read some where.... Aston Martin used to be owned by David Brown tractors hence the DB that they still use in the name
Just goes to show all these flash cars are a bit agricultural , and I've got a David Brown tractor in my shed which is about as close as I'm ever going to gett to a n Aston Martin

Did he retire after realising they were putting engines with less power than a Camry into his beautiful designs?

About 10 years ago, I was teaching a fella from the doof-doof generation my delivery run for him to take over, as I was about to go on holidays.
One of our pick-up points was a John Deere dealership. While we there, young fella laughs, points and says: "Ï love the way this clown has put Lamborghini badges on his tractor." Gave him a bit of homework that night. Look up the history of Lamborghini. Next morning when he came in he said he was stunned. He never knew.

Did he retire because the local catfish fishing hole dried up and he no longer had any inspiration to draw upon?
I kid, I love those designs, interesting to see what comes next
