Burnout Mania 2015 is run and done, and what a day it was! With two hot days leading into the Monday public holiday we knew it was going to be a scorcher but no one could have predicted a 39 degree day this in early October. Despite the heat thousands of burnout fans made the journey from all around Australia to Sydney Dragway to witness a selection of Australia’s craziest burnout cars in action. There was something for everyone on the day, from V8 Suzuki Mighty Boys to bagged mini-trucks and more commodores than a Holden dealership. From Street class right through to pro-class there was no shortage of entertainment, including wall taps, shooting flames and missing wheels. The MNSTR VL affectional named MILF ended his burnout with a bang and large display of flames, which while not so great for the car’s body work made for a spectacular sight. Making his burnout debut after hitting the wall at Brashernats, Shawn Karn in his VS commodore KARNGE had the crowd on their feet as he lined up to enter the pad. Sporting a 500ci V8 motor with a big blower sitting on top it was no surprise when tyre smoke began bellowing from the rear wheel tubs. Street Class winner BAG M UP put on a great show considering this vehicle is still street registered. The bright yellow paintwork laid on by Kings Park Prestige making it that little bit easier to spot the ute behind a wall of smoke. JSTWCH is one mean little Datsun ute, with a blower half the size of the car towering from the engine bay it was another to keep your eye on. One of the fastest tip in’s on the day sent him spinning towards the wall which he narrowly missed before performing a great burnout. With over 70 cars entered in the competition the skids were non-stop throughout the day, the recovery team doing a great job of towing cars off the pad quickly to keep stoppages at a minimum. Pro Class winner BLWNLX was favourite to take out the event in its lead up and lived up to the hype performing two tyre shredding burnouts with spectacular style. A crowd favourite throughout the day and no surprise when he walked away with the $5k first prize.
