Question Avatar Sizes

Why do some of the avatars used by some members appear to be larger than the 100 x 100 size posted.

Just curious :eclipsee_

Some are moderators, hence they get bigger than usual avatars.

some are also the orginal members from day 1, 2 and 3 before we changed them
