i have just tried to put 4.01 onto the psp and cant work out how to install it
and ive checked the sony website and the instructions there dont help me. my psp doesnt have a games folder in the menu in the pc

You need to have it like this.
On the memory card in the root directory make a folder called PSP and in that folder make another called UPDATE - then put the update file in the update folder. Run the psp and update it.

F:\PSP\MP_ROOT\PSP\UPDATE?? so move the file to there??
