Thats ridicullous considering you can buy new FPV's and HSV's for a tenth of the price that would cane it! I love the Phase XW and XY falcons but that is just crazy!

There was an unrestored white P3 advertised for $1M 2 months ago already, so it's nothing new.

its not a performance thing. it's history and heritage, and having something uniquely rare.

It's like having the very first microchip computer...selling it today for 10,000,000 and then saying HAH! I have a 3.0ghz P4 that would own that!!

Quite simply, there is no comparison in terms of technology...Carb V Fuel Injection...Quad Cam Vs. Pushrod. Electronic Engine Managements Systems...Electronic Stability Control...IRS...the list goes on and on.

The Fact that this Car was THE world's Fastest Four Door sedan of its time and its limited number of production (in ratio to the number of years it has existed for) makes it worth what it is.

Exactly correct, these vehicles are bought by investors, no different to an investment property, shares etc.

The value is specutalive, basically what someone is prepared to pay and who knows, it could be sold for that amount or close to it.

I paid about a grand for my GTHO P3 with spare engine.

Track red with stripes,
delivery only km’s,
never driven (and never in the rain),
non-smokers car,
looks like it has the original Dunlop Aquajets on it,
kept in a sealed storage unit, etc, etc.

No problems with it’s handling, braking or fuel economy.

In fairness I should mention that it is the Icon 1:8 model that I’m talking about

The same site has Puke Yellow GTS-R’s for $90-100K and I thought the record for something like an HG GTS Monaro was around $350ish k. The price of HO P3’s is dragging every old muscle car up.

yes, and what is a tenth fo a mill?
An original phase three ho in the past 2 months has sold for 1mil
a restored phase 1 ho sold for $750k prior to that
This is just becomming the norm for these cars

What people actually pay and what they’re advertised for a two different things.

Personally, I think that they should introduce mandatory drug tests for people that advertise on that muscle car site, as many are clearly off their dial.

Who’s going to be the first knucklehead to actually admit the they paid a cool million for a 1970’s V8 taxi.

Plenty I guess, havnt two phase 3's already sold for 700k+??

The taxi comment is like saying who would pay 70k+ for a GTP,you might as well just get a 6 cylinder xt if you think all falcons are taxi's.

Hate to break the news to you, these things are faster over the 1/4 and are almost 40 years old,the only one with a chance is the turbo 6 speed.

That car is awsome,if its worth that money to someone so be it..

Well, I am one of those people that paid 70k+ for a MK II GT-P and I’m honest enough to admit that it’s wasn’t much more than that.

At the end of the day, it’s still only a Falcon.

I think there best 400m times were around 14.6?????

Which would make them slower than anything on offer from fpv/hsv today.

But 14.6 for a 36 year old car is bloody impressive, awesome cars that are worth whatever someone is willing to pay.

I know a few PH3 owners who got together and "told" everyone that they had sold their vehicles for X amount, only to buy it back 6mths later.

All three were total fabrications, yet they suceeded in pushing up the price.

Good for the original owners, but the sucker who would pay a mill for a falcon?

please..........

the people that would be buying these wouldnt know the value of a million dollars, to have that money to spend on a car you would need a huge disposable income . and in that case it wouldnt matter if you paid $750,000 or $1,000,000 for it.
