Thought you guys might like to see this.
http://wot.motortrend.com/1509_ford_...d_exhaust.html I think a 2.7 V6 EcoBoost with AWD is very likely. Hopefully it has a sport mode with RWD bias. |

With a bit of luck it won't run a dreaded version of the 'powershift' transmission....
Anybody know what other options Ford have in this regard for a Mondeo/Fusion?

The ST will run a conventional 6 speed auto.
Cheers Russ

That would be a mid size car I'd actually consider.

Hopefully the ride has improved (revised with a ST model), most of the reviews I have read and seen from Europe and AU were disappointed that the Mondeo has gone a little soft even for a standard car. Due to US requirements?

I hope it rivals what Alfa is doing in terms of styling and performance.

How does it compare size wise to Mondeo? Is it a replacement or will it sell alongside it?

The Mondeo and fusion are the same, just different badges

It is.
Not much separates the current Mondeo/Fusion and Falcon size wise.

It would be a great daily driver to complement a weekend-warrior in the form of an FG-X XR8 or upcoming 310 XR6T.

Whilst it can never be a full replacement for the Falcon in both technical detail (no RWD/V8/I6/towing capacity) and for emotional and historical reasons, Mondeo will become Fords largest sedan offered in this country and by default becomes a Falcon replacement.

I can see where your going with this but if it already exists on the market today it is not it's replacement, it is sold as a medium size car, not a large one.
