I guess I ought to have read the T&C before posting the earlier thread - and I posted because I thought my wife's comment on hearing the news was hilarious and ought to be shared.

It's a long time since I read the T&C and I should have guessed that my post would spin towards the political end of the spectrum, rather than the giggle end that I hoped for.

While the basic Ford Six was code named Barra, the Turbo version clearly deserved its very own moniker – again enter Gordon Barfield.
We asked him if the engine had actually been called “Seagull” and how that came about.
“Actually it was just call “Gull”, because I named it that. Because we knew it was going to poo on everything”.
