Help...Never done one before, but finances are demanding that I have a go at installing the split CV Boot ( D/S Outer) instead of paying the Mechanic to do it. Any advice at this point is welcome, is it straight forward or a pain in the butt?

Not too difficult at all. Need to remove hub, then you can remove the entire driveshaft from the box by giving it a hard yank (or a crowbar to pry it out is a lot easier and nicer) then just a matter of swap. Remember to use decent lube!
