Hello all

Am flying down to VIC on Saturday morning to pick up my new car (bob 351's EF XR6), and will have about 3.5 hours in Melbourne before the Train leaves for Traralgon (Where the car is)

I get dropped off by the Skybus at Southern Cross Station at 9am, and i have to be at Flinders Street Station to get on the train at 12:30pm... So my question to you is, If you were a tourist, what would you spend your time looking at in Melbourne for 3 hours...

cheers.

Yeah, that the ticket... no ticket needed! ... Ahhh, I need coffee.

Its a maroon tram that just does a complete circle of the CBD. You can get off and look @ whatever and then just wait for the next one ( I think they run @ 20 min intervals?) and jump back on.
Have fun...

Maybe try a visit to the top of the Eureka tower, tallest residential building in the Southern Hemisphere IIRC. I haven't been up there but would love to see the view.

I would just spend the time in the city. You are already there. Walk through the casino, Eureka tower, walk up southbank, a coffee, you will kill the time very quickly.

I live in Melb and cant remember the last time I was in there! A couple of years ago? Might do it myself now!

Oh please, Fed Square is good because its different!

Mate just have a look, most of the time there are free exhibitions on, and its just across the road from Flinders.

South gate is literally across the river from Flinders, so a 5 minute walk max.

Hmmm, buggered if I know how I'd kill a few hours in the city. I avoid it like the plague. I reckon head to Southbank for a good feed and a few quiet ones, before you know it it'll be time to head off.

Eureka Tower Skywalk have done it took cousin from QLD loved it ,push you out in a glass box out the side of the building while the glass is frosted and you cant see out then it all becomes clear AWSOME bit hexy on pocket ,i think it was $16 to go to the top and another $10 to go in the box >It is well worth doing as even the floor is glas ,some people trip right out

I would say the casino and southgate,

However I would check that you are in fact leaving from Flinders Street, as most country services leave from Spencer Street station.

All Gippsland bound trains have to pass through Flinders St as they do not run diesels through the city loop.

Fair enough, then he could in fact leave from Spencer, if he wanted to visit the casino and the like, its probably closer than Flinders!
