What are the current hit picks?

To suit stock Barra, with spike suppression, 400A or more peak current capacity, length 3-3,6 metres. Storage or bundling system would be a plus.

Looking for recommendations that are readily purchased, this can be online. Items to avoid are also worthy of airtime.

Don't focus too much on outrageous claims about 'peak current', they're full of shit.

For reference the maximum continuous current rating of 00BS is about 290A at 30C.

Be able to jump start the Costa Concordia with these bad boys, I own two sets of them, buy quality and buy once.

Comes with this crappy little zip up bag as a carry case but RIP trying to fit them back in the bag once you've unpacked them.

I made my own many years ago, no spike protection though, 4 meter's of arc welding cable cut in half 4 eye terminals and 4 heavy duty spring clamps, has never suffered from current loss like the ones they sell at Repco , must admit the welding cable came in a auction lot of workshop gear I picked up.

The LV-8150 (not 8152) actually sounds more than adequate for this application. It’s just a set to carry in one particular car that doesn’t live with me. For workshop use I agree the heavier set would be more versatile.

Both are six metres long, handy if you can’t nose up to a dead car.
