I have found that the solution suggested by Kariharnett (and seconded by Als_Zetec) really and truly works:
"...let the clutch out a little bit and select reverse at the same time " It took me a little while to get the right knack of doing this, but now I have, it works beautifully. Many, many thanks, guys. I'm just noticing my reverse playing up every so often (three or so times a month now). Thanks for posting up. Will try that next time

also, putting it into first the reverse can help too.

No problems mine is getting worse now its now hit 60k but the clutch thing still works
