Default Aero-car?

I saw this in my travels this morning, and had to take a quick photo - apologies for the oversized fence rail!

That's exactly what I thought too. Very similar shape, although I don't think many were sold and the ones that did sell didn't live to tell the tale lol

Ford had some interesting ones, too. Behold the Nucleon (it was envisaged as a nuclear-powered car—actually it's more like a ute):

And the Ford Gyron:

And let's not forget the 1955 Lincoln Futura concept (which became much more famous after being customized about a decade later):

That's Benson Ford at the wheel—grandson of Henry Ford and head of Lincoln-Mercury at the time.

That's what it became when it was customized about a decade later.

No one seems to know how George Barris came into possession of the Futura. Ford policy was always to destroy concept vehicles.

That's the one I had in mind too...several customs in the "jet age" of concept cars had that look.

It'd be awesome done up properly...that windscreen needs work for example to make it flow better with the car, but overall not bad...

I'm a little disappointed with this thread.

I see a thread titled "Aero-car", I think of what I assume most people would think its about, the Aero car. Because it was one of the nicest cars ever made was the Aero.

Here's some pics of one at a car show in Broken Hill I took. I was a little bit happy that day.

Ahh, the HSV Aero. One of the nicest cars ever to come out of the Holden/HSV factories.

Hmmm.. similar colour to the original pic.... but the original looks like it has more 'horns' than a VN.

That makes me sad panda. Looked to have been in good nick before the mishap, and OMG those wheels are incredible, some of the nicest rims I've ever seen.

Lexcens are some of the most awesome VNs around. Although I dare say that one may have been VP based.
