Default Willowbank info please

This weekend at willowbank has the the 1320x series on the friday and sat and the pro street meet on the sunday.

Being my 1st time going to willowbank (and been yrs since i been to a drag meet), was wondering if anyone can tell me if there are camping facilities there or not and if so, how much?

i Seem to fall on deaf ears when i call the track direct and even sent an email but no reply so, would like to find out so i can plan my weekend cause i really dont wanna travel 1 & 1/2hrs each way each day if i can camp and catch all the action...

Any other forum members going this weekend? Anyone racing that i should keep my eye out for?? Lookin forward to this weekend!!!

cheers
Dave

There are no camping facilities in the car park however some racers stay there the night with their cars. You can stay at the Willowbank caravan park.

There's an old bloke who allows parking & camping on his land for some of the events. As you turn into Champion's Way, he's about 100 metres on the right.

not sure what today is like but the saturday event was a joke : :

worst event i have ever been to

54 cars total that ran and then the top 8 was run all with 5 to 10 minute interviews and no timeing at all was shown to the croud , 1 race every 10 mintues is not right and then no timeing and no reactions = no drags IMO

there were so many unhappy people it was a joke

from 1.30pm to 3.15pm not even a car on track , then the 11 cars that did not make the show had 3 runs which took 1 1/2 hours for another 5 to 8 passes then it was back to interviews and crap

omg never again will i go to a event lke this : : :

there was some quick cars but honestly 50 to 60 cars for a full days event

i hope today was better if any one went as i know most people that were there yesterday were not going back today as it was a joke.

oh yeh once they got to the top 16 guess what they interviewed again and then again at top 8 and yep top 4 and then the final

full day there and got over 4 to 5 hours of no cars on track and no nuthing not even the radio on the loud speakers as they were shooting a TV show , so they kept telling us blah blah blah

yeh i couldnt agree more, sat was boring as . . . . I did go back sunday but feel kinda ripped about it too..

on the saturday WAITING for the racing, they said that on the sunday the pro street event would be, gates open 6am, 8am qualifying, 12pm racing til 8pm, my friend heard the announcement too so by the time we got home the sat night, few drinks etc we thought, wont rush back up we'll get there at 12pm for the racing. We got there just after 12pm, paid the $25ea entry, got a seat on the start line, watched maybe what felt like not even 10-12 races maybe.... "well thats it folks thats the last race of the day" by around 3pm! I learnt to get to the track asap lol

damn i wasnt expecting so many cars for a test n tune. i been wanting to go up for a T&T night for a while now but my work hrs make it hard to get there, but for a 100+ car turnout on a regular basis, might have to talk to the boss lol

how often you get up there DBL?

The T&T evenings aren't so bad. Last time I went there were about 50 or 60 cars in total, and me and guys I went with got 3 runs each before they closed the track. We got there at about 6.30pm, and left sometime after 9.30 or so.

Plenty of waiting around in the staging lanes after about 3 or 4 oil-downs during the course of the evening. Without them, would've got 4 runs easy, perhaps 5.
