Default Mini Meet/ Repair of Mark_EB car reflections!!!

Tonight a few E-series members (Dezza, Scott (gthofan), Grant, Josh (efgiar),Jaslyn,(wanabelowner) Scott and last but not least the star Mark 'shitting' himself over getting his pedal box repaired. They all came down together as a group to my place being in Swan Bay (approx 10kms from Drysdale) and Mark was saying that the Cruise was very enjoyable until they hit my place.

well what can i say, great turnout, and in the end it was fixed. I left a little bit before mark had finished cos i was dead asleep. Oh the time was 4:30am when i left and i got home at 6:30 hahaha now thats dedication.

We had some problems with the pedal box, due to trying to fit an ef/el one into an eb. And it was also cracked, so out with the mig welder and just repaired the old one.

cheers
scott

I ended up leaving at just a bit after 2.00 and got home around 4.00. Obviously I wasn't as dedicated as Scotty (nah, I was dead tired too). It was a good night. It's funny how when I went up to pier 35 for the mini meet, I certainly wasn't planning to end up on the other side of Geelong! Shame about that second pedal box, but hopefully the welding job on the old pedal box gives it enough strength so it doesn't happen again.

Good to hear. Next I'll have to do mine! Mine was never as bad as that, but it's still not great

Hope its all good now Mark, you should come up to Winton again and catch up.

Well what a night it was. We arrived at Gavins at 11pm and I was nervous as I knew what I was up for. It turned out great in the end as previously said we had problems with the other pedal box not being suited for an EB. It was a very long stressful night for me seeing the dash out and when I saw the pedal box after we took it out and couldn't believe how cracked it was, infact I think I was very luckly that the brake pedal never come out as the cracks were so bad. When I found out that the other pedal box wasn't suited I went white and felt very ill and speech less, but it was Gavin and Scott who came up with an idea of mig welding and heat shielding my original. Gavin did a extremely good job with the mig and seemed know how to use it well and is very smart with tools. I was very happy with the job Gavin did and they convinced me that it will be fine as I was scared of it cracking again. Once it was in we could start putting the dash back in and this where is I was worried as the car is a one owner and has no rattles or sqeeks. I did want this car to have any rattles so i was watching very carefully just like I did with the 2nd pedal box we had. It all seemed to be good and was in great hand of Gavin so there was really no fear but i still was LOL. Seeing the dash back in and all instruments in saw the first smile on my face all night as the whole night I was scared but in the end it all went well and I am very happy with the Job they did. Thanks Guys

I would firstly like to thank all the guys for the assistance whether it was helping or just moral support either way It was very thoughtfull and nice and I really appreciate it as it was a long drive and it wasn't planned to happen but you guys offered to travell 2 hrs out of your way to help. That is dedication and caring so you all should be congradulated on that. Secondly I would like to give Scotty, Grant, and Gavin a huge Thanks for their time and committed helping out with the dash, pedal box and mig welding. You guys should be proud of your efforts as it was a long late tiring night and I would like to reward you for it in someway as if it wasnt for you I would not be dring the EB Today. So thanks again especially Scott who stayed till 4.30am and got home at 6.30am to help out when he didn't have to. It was also Scott who decided to join me and the group followed so thanks for that too buddy, YOU LEGEND!!!. As for Gavin, what can I say, I have not met a person so much like myself. He was so kind in letting me come down so late and to borrow the massive shed that he has. Gavin firstly came to the e series BBQ that I recently held and I havent stopped talking to him on MSN since. When I called him up and told him what happened he said to me that he will fix it without hesitation. Too me that is true friendship and it those people who I really respect and will really do my best to help them back. Gavin is a top bloke who I have only meet 3 times and was willing to help me out with his very experienced knowledge. Thanks buddy for your immediate assistance and for the shed and for being up till 6.30am and for everything else. All I can say is to theses guys especially Gavin and Scotty when eva you need help with anything please let me know as you had mad me very happy with the quality of work you did, it was a fantastic job well done.
I left Gavins with a smile on my face but very tired and worn out at 6.30am and got home in Daylight at 8.15am.

That sounds exactly like I was when my dash caught fire after welding up the crack in the firewall due to the clutch cable. I just wanted to throw up!
