Fires Perth, Ford Museum under threat

Our local hero firefighters have been battling a huge out of control fire in the hills east of Perth for days now.
Over 70 homes lost.
One concern (among many others) is the Bailup Ford Farm.
Has a fantastic collection of Fords.
Problem is, we're in lock down with the UK strain China virus until Friday, so even if anyone wanted to go help and drive them out of the fire zone, we can't.

Fingers crossed, thats a significant, lifes work, collection.
It's agonizingly close to the lockdown cut of line aswell. I'm sure there will be a big community effort to remove the cars if deemed necessary .

Looks like the fire is heading NE so away from the museum. I'm just outside the watch and act zone, lots of ash flying around in my area.

I didn't actually know this place existed. I'll have to go and visit once this is all over. Fingers crossed that the fire isn't going to touch it.

It's well worth the visit, heaps of great cars.. they never used to open up for the general public, only car club bookings but that's good to know

Thoughts are with the people impacted by the fires, at least 71 houses with more still under threat over the next few days is very sad

It appears the museum dodged a bullet, I haven't heard anything to the contrary.
However, the fire is still going, lots of stock and property damage, over 80 homes lost.

If you are able to, please donate, this is a Lord Mayors Appeal fund and money goes directly to those affected, no management fees etc, and it is a registered charity.

Perth is on our to-do list
(not that this is a good time to plan travel)
Will be putting this museum on the places to visit once there.
So glad it has been untouched by the fires.

make sure you got an escape plan if anything goes pear shape Covid wise. you might never get out.

We had big plans for this year.
Now not so much.
Still want to travel but near impossible to plan and execute neatly without concern of restrictions stuffing us up. Probably the best chance for us is just to head north thru the centre again, keeping within the borders of NT and SA. Not quite what we had in mind, Perth might need to happen further down the track.
