Surely restored/replica cars - not new.
how would they meet todays emissions and ancap safety? they look great, but call it what it is.

Read the blurb, it says it all in there, the ones in my post are neither restored or rebuilds, they are all new build cars built under licence.....

We all know not to take blurbs or headlines seriously theses days. don't we?
These Beautiful cars are built in a workshop not a new car production line to me it doesn't matter if its a new crate motor trans put into a newly built chassis its a restore.

Lol. You can only restore something if it already exists, even if you started of with only a wheel nut you could say you are restoring but everything on these is new, they are a new reproduction built under license from Ford, nothing like a restoration, just cause they are built to order and not rolling down a production line means diddly

Right, they are continuations. They even get a vehicle identification number which is a continuation from when they were running off an assembly line.

People are doing it. There is even one at the shop I am doing some R&D for, but having not done it personally, I don't know all the details involved.

"Each one will be built to customer specifications, using the basis of an original 1969 or 1970 Mustang body, though there will also be the option for a brand-new body licensed by Ford."
meaning they will be built using an existing used body as the cost of the Brand new one would be too extravagant. think about it. Anyway there are places here building fantastic rebuilt mustangs here's one in Hallam VIC Ive seen one of their Eleanors on the road - magnificent http://classic-musclecars.com.au/

Outfits like Superformance build GT40s, Cobras and Corvettes from scratch under license which get continuation VINs. |

that's just It I cant see how the new panels are done, it requires stamping machines and expensive tooling. I think in comparison the reproduced GT40s, Cobras and Vettes have simple bodies maybe fibreglass? mounted onto space frame like chassis

They're new body shells, no matter how ridiculous you may think it is. Read the links provided.

There's quite a few 'builders' in the US that will put together a new 60/70s Mustang and a few other 60's and 70's muscle cars for you, but i think Dynacorn pretty much supply all of them, i don't know of another, maybe solarite_guy does?
