Default replacing xls ute rear shocks

Gday everyone,
I know this is proberly a noob question but is there a trick to removing the rear shocks in an 2000 v8 au xls Ute for the life.of me I cannot get the top bolt off. I ended up removing the whole bracket to get it out but I still can't remove the bolt. Tried wd40 ect nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Drown it in wd40 and a big breaker bar. They generally have a crap load of built up dirt and crud on them so take some almighty effort to shift. Probably easier attached to the car still as it will beattached to something that can counter the force of a breaker bar.
